This is a wonderful album, but the thing about it that always gets me is that partway through (I forget the exact track), there’s a tone that always makes me think there’s a phone ringing in the room. There’s been a few times I’ve embarrassed myself in public by confusedly muttered “Where?” while casting my gaze about

It’s an odd coincidence because I was going to fire up my Retropie this weekend and try to get an emulation of Live a Live up and running, because it has been a game I’ve been meaning to check out for a while. Hopefully, Nintendo hasn’t cease-and-desist-ed all ROMs from the sites yet.

It is the unholy love child of the Charter-Brighthouse-Time Warner Cable merger.

Because I can’t just play The Binding of Isaac: Repentance all the time (well, I *can* but I probably *shouldn’t*), I decided to start up a game of Control, which I got through PS Plus some time ago. And I’m a bit underwhelmed, honestly.

I’m honestly not sure I see the point of her distinction, beyond semantics. So what if the Holocaust *is* “white-on-white crime” and not about race. Is it any less tragic?

I did Noom a little over a year ago and it seemed helpful for a bit. The food and exercise tracking kept me mindful of my daily routines. I slowly lost some weight and I started to be hopeful I might be on track to lose more, but, as always seems to happen when I do a diet/exercise plan, I plateaued...hard. Weeks went

I would presume that “The Discourse” is centered on a single playthrough of a game. I’ve probably sunk at least that much into The Binding of Isaac in its many iterations over the years. Hell, I probably put a couple hundred into the old Flash pre-Rebirth version of the game; Of course, this is partially due to the

That’s remarkably close to my take on Scream.  If it were not for the “meta” element, they would be just another subpar slasher.  It always upsets me a bit that New Nightmare does the “meta” thing, too, but it does it better, with real emotion weight and characters I actually care about, yet it was not the breakout

Having seen some streams of Kaycee’s Mod, I’ve come to the realization that creating a broken deck--synergistic sigil combos, the ringworm hack, squirrel totem shenanigans--might be the point, especially since all the boss encounters are based on your opponent getting some advantage.

I finally beat The Beast in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, quite unexpectedly. I had just been doing the run to unlock tainted characters and just somehow managed to buckle down and beat it.

If you can see the background art behind all those word bubbles, it’s not a Bendis comic!

If there’s enough interest, they’ll bring them into the MCU. Marvel does stuff like this as a test case to gauge audience interest (the subtle Mockingbird nod is likely for the same reason). For the time being, they’re just going to play coy about it.

I have to agree with Vikram on Titane. The trailer got me excited to see a transgressive journey into madness, but the actual film felt like a loose jumble of ideas with a misting of provocation. Mind you, the lead performance was pretty damn good and there are individual scenes that worked (I particularly liked the

That’s good, because we’re still not paying you!

I’ve only seen it once all the way through in the theater when it came out originally. I enjoyed it well enough, but it didn’t quite make as strong as an impression as it seems to have with most other people. Maybe it might resonate stronger if I rewatch it now all these years later.

They can’t...they are so close to their dream of a slideshow composed of slideshows...and then they can embed slideshows within those slideshows and so forth until the heat-death of the universe...or until they get less stupid owners.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance...no, not really, I’m kidding. I’ve made peace with the fact that I will never 100% that game, especially since there are some challenges I just have no desire to undertake (completing the run as The Lost, unlocking The Forgotten, etc.)

I didn’t get a chance to watch much of the second episode to have a fully-formed opinion, but man, that first one was just a dud. It was just flat and lifeless, briefly trading on “huh, yeah, I remember that moment” recognition.

The standard advice I always return when considering sales like these or coupon deals is that “you are only really saving money if you were probably going to buy the item already”.  I’m not perfect at honoring this advice--I have a weakness when grocery shopping for snacks that falls within the $1 to$2 range (pound
