Sorry, but elections have consequences. For example, the GOP tax plan would tax the hell out of graduate students, to the point that it would destroy my career and the general institution of academic science. This plan would not have materialized if the GOP hadn’t won the election.

I literally have trans friends who became deeply, deeply worried about their own well-being after Trump’s rise to power. Please, realize that not everyone is privileged enough to simply put the current socio-political climate aside and “get on with life”.

What if we voted for Bernie in the primary but then sucked it up and acted like a damn adult and voted for the far lesser of two evils in the general election?
