I find it interesting how, in interviews, Parker has talked about how this film is important because America still hasn't fully healed from the horrors of slavery but has dismissed the allegations because, hey, that was way back in the 90's and he's gotten right with Jesus since then, so it's all fine.
Yeah, this sort of has the feel of a vanity project. The director seems like an arrogant prick who cast himself in a heroic role in a film he wrote, produced, and directed. There's a Tommy Wiseau/Neil Breen quality to it.
The whitewashing is even more troubling given that the film included a rape scene which never actually happened, which would be in questionable taste even without the allegations.
That clue didn't feel difficult enough for a daily double.
