I recently rewatched The Shining and it’s so strange the discourse around her in it because her performance not only isn’t bad, it’s uniquely good. It’s honestly one of the most brutally realistic depictions of a woman in an abusive relationship. It’s interesting too because throughout the movie she’s legitimately

The perky Eagle News anchor who seems to delight at every misstep...”

Watching that one brief scene with Aniston and Margulies, it occured to me that both of their careers really began on the same Thursday night on NBC almost 30 years ago when Friends and ER debuted. I don’t really have any point here, but it just struck me as funny.

It’s not a Morning Show episode unless they do a news segment about themselves.

Friedkin releasing his final film from beyond the grave to rave reviews on the exact same day as Believer may be the most baller move ever.

I just watched Cult and Curse of Chucky, still pretty fun movies. Good to see Brad Dourif still doing the voice.

Show’s been delightful so far. There are few recurring horror villains that could get this kind of treatment and not get stale almost instantly, but Chucky’s (total asshole) humanity is always apparent.

It’s been a blast how Mancini is determined to keep every bit of the franchise canon, even the more controversial dives into pure comedy, and is able to get the old gang back as much as he has.

“Amelia” and the most recent Christmas one are two of the best episodes they’ve ever done, and from the 13th season, no less.

“Ameilia” was a beautiful Louise story; for being someone so jaded at such a young age, it was a trip seeing her find her hero.

I wonder how much turnover there’s been in the writing and production staff over the years (or I guess, more to the point, how little). Every season has its ups and downs of course but the show really has been remarkably consistently good-to-great over just about its entire run. Last season’s finale “Amelia”, for

I’m disappointed there’s no recognition for Somebody Somewhere. :(

This episode makes more sense if you think of it as taking place before Homer has given up all hope and simply become a drunken lout.

One of favorite gags. Me can't play Scrabble without thinking of joke.

RDRR, get it?
I love the gag at the beginning when they're playing Scrabble and Homer says "how can anyone make a word out of these lousy letters" and the tiles on his rack spell OXIDIZE.

It's a very, very murky situation. Groening, Brooks and Simon were all strongly involved in the show's first few seasons. Groening is generally credited with the creation of the core character traits, the put-upon-but-never-quite-defeatist "Life in Hell" tone, and the early focus on Bart as a ten-year-old

No worries. Even though now I think I'm gonna watch Shaun of the Dead because, y'know, it's like one of the best comedies ever.
