Why are you concerned?  It is all security theater, not actual security.  You face the same risk having them as not.  Didn’t seem to concern you before.

My Volvo has this. But, I had to add resistors to the bulbs when I switched to LEDs just to keep the system from triggering. Worse, I can’t put LEDs into the brake lights as they would always be on thanks to the “bulb out” system.

You know, if the insurance was up to date, this was a HUGE plus for the dealership as they now will have all new inventory. You need to take a ‘46 Willys for a spin. 1 channel manual 9" drum brakes.  The term “stand on the brakes” has some real meaning.  I can’t imagine having even less stopping power.  Then again, I have nearly twice the HP of the Franklin in my Go Devil.

3M makes a micro polishing compound. I forget the name. I’ve used it on all kinds of vehicles from cars to boats to bring back an oxidized or stained coat. With a soft wool pad on the polisher and some time it does wonders.
