Pretty sure if Oubre’s punishment seems outsized, it’ll have something to do with him getting into the ref’s space to lay Olynyk out. The ref sees Oubre coming before Olynyk does, and is putting his arm out to get between them when Oubre just goes over the top of his head to shove Olynyk.

The city itself is, like you said, progressive and inclusive enough. The suburbs, particularly the working class suburbs, are where I’d wager most of the worst offenders are from. Even Southie is gentrified now.

I don’t disagree with your overall point, but when people say “Boston,” what the mean is “Metro Boston,” and Braintree, Revere, Medford, Quincy, etc, etc are certainly metro Boston. I’d say anything inside 95 (with some exceptions - it breaks down a little bit to the north, I don’t think most people would say Salem is…

I’m from Milwaukee. It is actually officially the most segregated city in the country. It was....an experience growing up there.

I don’t know about most segregated - but I too have lived in tons of cities...Boston, DC, LA, SF, Memphis, Dallas...and (im white) the most racist in my opinion was LA...I base that upon things people say when they think “you are one of us” because we look the same...never had strangers say such racist things anywhere…

Try Charleston SC. Most progressive city in SC, still segregated as hell.
