Backlogged: On the Run from the Hypno Orb Edition
I ran through the first three The Room games during my downtime through AGDQ week last year. Most of the puzzles were great. In the third one, there was a point where I just had access to too much stuff and the game wasn’t giving me enough direction as far as what to focus on, so I started letting the game babysit me…
I haven’t played escape room board games like EXIT: the Game and Unlock! yet but I’d like to try them out. I don’t mind a time limit with real life escape rooms, but I’m curious to see if that also applies to board games. A time limit adds a kind of stress, while playing board games usually is something relaxing for…
Ah, gaming thread, I’ve missed you this last few busy weeks, though I sincerely doubt that you missed me.
I’ve got to the first “ending” of MGS: Peace Walker. I say first ending because, being MGS, it’s far more complicated than that.
Sadly, as far as I know, none of the games involve a character named Lisa tearing the protagonist apart.
“Video games have their own logic, one that has to be respected, even when (possibly even especially when) it doesn’t map very well onto the real world.”
So one game from the big BLM bundle that I’ve played is Voyageur, which is a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style game about space exploration. You can trade goods and hire a crew and make scientific discoveries, with the caveat that you can never backtrack- the weird FTL device you have is strictly a one-way thing. It’s…
Since I successfully finished Alone in the Dark last week - a game that was incredibly influential while also having a ton of issues - I've decided to stick with the tank controls and blast through Onimusha since it seems really short and I've been having fun with it. That or Cursed Mountain, a game notable for being…
I feel the same way about Clarence teaching everyone about Patience. It’s beautiful.
I can only remember crying in the movie theaters twice.
I am playing some of these just for completion’s sake; but if an episode doesn’t pull me in I’ll move on.
Thanks, I’ll definitely check that out at some point. Would you suggest it before or after Final Doom?
I got Clubhouse Games today on the Switch. It’s really charming but I’ve not managed to get the family together to play mosaic mode which was the real draw for me. We’ll see how it goes.

As much as this is a fun thread...
I know these are jokes, but here’s a mutherfucking real one that would be amazing and I will have no others.
The no-brainer is Zach Morris! He could do his “time out” and freeze time to just whale on dudes. His special power could be to pull out his giant cell phone and either beat a guy with it or call AC Slater who could come out in his Bayside wrestling singlet and pin the opponent. To paraphrase the immortal words of…
As other commenters already said, The Mask would actually, genuinely be a great addition.
The new Clubhouse games on switch is out. I had it preloaded and played a bit. It's really good so far. Every game has a super detailed tutorial and the presentation is insanely polished. The games look so cool too. A lot of the sports games have that 50's plastic electric football game feel and it's so fun to look at.
