I’ve been enjoying watching my husband play Maneater over the last few days (it’s better than watching him play Animal Crossing which is like watching paint dry). That being said, I’m itching to start a new game but I just can’t figure out what to play. I tend to prefer JRPGs and strategy RPGs, but I feel the quality

Well I paid off my final loan in Animal Crossing: New Horizon and I took a couple of days off. No Apex Legends this week and the only other thing in my gaming plate is Minecraft: Dungeons. Not fired the latter up yet but hoping to tonight or this weekend.

Backlogged: Long Time No See Edition

Hey hey,

Will probably finish off Sleeping Dogs this weekend — you really can’t go wrong with GTA combined with kung fu. Plus you can beat a guy up with a fish.

A few years ago I started playing through the Doom games, with the intention of working through them in order. I got as far as Doom 2 before getting sidetracked. Now I’ve picked up Doom 64, and I’m gonna try and work through those two this weekend.

This article is so cryptic. I can’t understand the depth and heroism of the protagonist of Maneater after reading it. I’m not even sure what type of creature it may be.

Now playing

That photo reminds me of a preview for Strange Wilderness, a movie I forgot existed. I remember thinking it looked hilarious in the previews, but it turns out the only funny parts were shown there.

Hm. I’m tempted by this, but I think 40 bucks is too big an ask for me right now, especially with some of the problems I’ve heard about it. (The lack of lock on function sounds pretty infuriating.) Maybe when it goes on sale at some point.

I like the idea of being a shark. Even in very simplified, arcade-style, somewhat grindy and repetitive games like Feeding Frenzy and Feeding Frenzy 2, there was a lot of joy in being at the top of the food chain without the necessity of working a 9-to-5, such that I have to buy my meat pre-murdered and cling-wrapped

Because of the remaster of Saints Row the 3rd, I got an itching to play it again (still on the 360, because I got it hooked up). I still haven’t finished it but I can tell I’m pretty close- one flaw is the late game kinda makes some areas harder to access, maybe clearing it will fix that. Still it really holds up.

Cool a shark game, real neat, but we’ve had that dammit. I want a game where you play a bloody dragon. You go from little terrified wyrmling pushed out of its parents territory, to huge scaled tyrant attacking cities and stealing their treasure. Like, open world dragon game, where you get the ability to level up into

Played and finished Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. Decent B-game, in story, gameplay and execution. It has several fun mini-games and some of the cases make for a good puzzle. The smartest bit in the game is the neuron system. Depending on the choices (always binary), different conclusions are drawn, resulting

I’ve hopefully got the Xenoblade Chronicles remaster coming in the post today so that’ll be a big chunk of the weekend.

Finished God Of War today.

The game I’m not playing this weekend is No Man’s Sky. Allow me to explain.

I’m playing Civilization VI for the PS4, which is the first Civ game I’ve played since III - and I barely played that one, so my best-remembered Civ experience is II. It’s fun to get back into some of those old rhythms, and it’s always cool to hear Sean Bean. I’m playing on Chieftain level, so the game is bending over

Just after college I had two obsessions, the THPS series and the original Counter-Strike. I would play CS on my computer, die in-game, then rotate to my TV and start playing a THPS game until the next round. My roommate gave me a nickname: The Swiveler.

I found the THPS games tough to really get into....but that’s probably due to having found EA Sports BIG’s SSX franchise first. SSX Tricky and SSX 3 are near the top (if not the top) of my favorite games of that generation.  (3 had the better game mechanics, while Tricky has the best levels, toped by the Tokyo

I still boot up Skate 2 occasionally and just skate around casually. It really captures the actual vibe of just going out to skate around town and then finding an interesting spot to do a trick on. You can 100% ignore the challenges and contests if you want. Skate 3 has a few improvements from a menu and visual standpo
