It helps that because in Singapore, the official language for video games is English that many companies offer official subbed versions of their games. I have the last couple of SD G Generation and SRW games, as well as the amazing GundamBreaker 3 in full jank English for the PS4. And cheaper than Japanese versions…
Interestingly, T is the first of the modern games to really attempt to suggest that *all* the included shows take place in one universe - V and X took a slightly "worst of both worlds" approach where there are 3 or so parallel earths involved in the plot, each of which houses a random subset of the anime series. It's…
So, thanks for this! Im about to go ahead and scoop up T and V. I played OG on Gameboy Advanced but never thought I’d be able to play the main crossover titles with them not coming to the US with any english friendly subs.
Hellloo!
I agree wholeheartedly. That’s part of why I wanted Battle.net or another fighting game staple of the ‘90s and aughts to be on the lists, because just as you note, RTS games and E-Sports ARE an integral part of contemporary gaming and they’ve been here in the foreground for two decades now.
Alright, another week, this time with 100% less dead cat story!
I’ve been playing the Campaign mode of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator this week and it’s glorious in its utter stupidity. There’s something immensely satisfying in watching three googly-eyed blobs in a wheelbarrow crush a horde of equally googly-eyed knights.
Luigi’s Mansions 3: Loving two things about this game. One is the creative way that it employs the front-only perspective. Luigi can see in all three dimensions but the player’s POV cannot, forcing one to use other visual cues like mirrors and the like to find certain hidden areas. The other thing is how viscerally…
I think the PS3 was the best region free console. Sometimes games would even automatically switch the game language to your systems default language if it was available. I played through the Ninja Gaiden games that way.

I’m almost finished completing the pokédex in Pokémon Sword. Only 14 to go, but they are the most boring/grindy of the bunch: the exclusive fossils -which apparently are available in Sword, since I managed to snag a fossilised drake- and Pokémon that evolve through friendship and weird trading mechanics…
BIG week for me with Monster Hunter World. I beat Xeno’jiiva! The ‘final boss’ of the game is a hell of a good fight, with a couple of minor problems but generally a good pace. You really feel yourself getting better at the fight as you figure out its moves, and I ALMOST timed out (and would probably think worse of…
Huh, I just saw Super Robot Wars on the Steam page a bit ago ... probably because I live in Japan. I was totally disinterested — I love giant robots, and giant robot anime, but I’m really wary of jank Japanese giant robot games that, in my uninformed opinion, are both over-focused on stat grind and empty fan-service…
I haven’t been gaming much, because I’ve been watching AGDQ. Not as many super-fascinating runs as in years past, but there have been a few fun races, and I’m looking forward to tonight’s SM64 randomizer. That’s gonna be hilarious.
Boy uh, I should really get going on that Pokemon Sword I bought on launch day and still haven’t reached the first gym. On the plus side, these expansion passes at least give me an excuse to drag my feet a little more. I remember the Breath of the Wild expansion coming out months after I beat it and it was hard going…
It used to be that Iwata Satoru would just visit the programming department over the weekend and find a way to make it part of the initial release.
Still playing through Jedi: Fallen Order. Sometimes it gets too hard for me (I suck at anything remotely Souls-y) and I have to put it down for a second, but I’m enjoying the game so much that even if I close it I find myself being like “well...one more shot...” and booting it right back up.
We’re only 7 comments in at time of writing, so I better not jinx it, but there is a surprising amount of nuanced discussion about Sword/Shield in these comments. Good on you Gameological / AV Games.
