I’ve dipped back into Saints Row 2 recently. I’m early into my second run and thankfully had good luck running easily the worst mission in the game (Reunion Tour, aka “Donnie you idiot”), perhaps because I did it earlier this time. I’m not doing much different, the game’s still just “do whatever shit you want.”

I’m nowhere near getting a VR set right now. I’ve been living exclusively off of laptops for over a decade now, but I have some significant money socked away, and now that GPU prices aren’t at their cryptocurrency high and my work’s IT department has donated me two monitors they were just gonna trash anyway, I should

I’m playing Bloodborne this weekend. I’m a newbie to FromSoftware games, so this is my introduction to it. Still not very far in, having only beat the Cleric Beast, Father Gascoigne, and the Blood Starved Beast so far. I know brutal difficulty is the name of the game, and that I can expect to die a lot, but I’m

Now playing

The whole autoplay video in the corner that doesn’t actually stop when you start scrolling sure is a decision that someone made. Must be needing to justify the unnecessary pivot to video that was based on false Facebook data a few years back.

I will be playing some combination of Iceborne and Link's Awakening this weekend. Iceborne is so, so good. I'm at about the 200 hour mark in MHW overall, and I'm nowhere near the end yet. Capcom knocked it out of the park.

Hello all! This week I have continued my playthrough of Blood & Wine as well as LoZ: Link to the Past. If you care about spoilers for B&W, just skip the image and a paragraph or two.

Link’s Awakening today! And perhaps more importantly Untitled Goose Game! I also might splurge and get AI Somnium Files too because it’s payday and I liked the Zero Escape games so yeah.

Broken record starting up over here: still playing Gwent (a couple of wins away from making the top rank again), which has a new expansion coming at the end of the month, still replaying Final Fantasy XV (about to jump into Episode Gladiolus), but I actually didn’t play that at all this past week, as my Gwent interest

In the one session since last weekend, I got to the first Hell Guard in Doom (2016) and I hate it. I know I’m just bad at the game and need to get good but what I hate is that the game is about frenetic action that takes advantage of environments and is about a one vs many struggle, and then the boss fights are

The column has reminded me that I got a VR headset last year and uh haven’t used it in um a bit. (Hey, it’s not my fault that it’s hard to get the camera set up on our new TV.)

Looks pretty straightforward for this weekend:

What Have You Finished This Week?

Apart from the GOAT (Goose of the Year), I’ll be doubling down on my Astral Chain playthrough (I still kinda suck, but not as much!) and maybe, just maybe, I’ll treat myself to Void Bastards, which is finally on sale on Steam

Salutations!~

What are you playing this weekend?

One of the highlights of my childhood was naming myself I Farted in ActRaiser, so that the little winged baby began every sentence with a confession.

I’m on the last level of Celeste, so I’m hoping to knock that out this weekend... but the boss fights are so brutal I may not do it until next week. But I’ll certainly go berry picking on the earlier levels, at the least.

Agreed. Actraiser was great and would be amazing to get back into. Also:

Act Raiser was one of the first games I got for SNES as a kid and was a random purchase from my Aunt and Uncle. It was hands down one of the best games on the system. It was such a cool mix of sim city and and like ghosts and goblins. I ended up buying it again a few years ago when I got a retro SNES. It’s still such

Why bother Capcom with their highly-flawed port of Final Fight? I’m as nostalgic for the SNES as the next guy, but there’s no reason at all to bring that junk out of the past.  The arcade version is readily available on modern consoles.  Instead, have Capcom bring Final Fight 2 and 3 to the Switch since they were
