My most anticipated game of E3 2018 finally arrived, and it managed to live up to my hype! My Friend Pedro is a 2D shoot’em up platformer with bullet time, bullet dodging, and a talking banana. It is one of those games that feels made just for me in every way. I’m probably about 2/3 of the way through, and its

Finished Chapter 5 in Judgment. I have a weird relationship with this game. It has a much deeper, more engrossing story than most of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s games. But the actual mechanics of moving through that story leave a lot to be desired. Specifically, a lot of the investigative elements feel like mindless

The really sad thing about most of the Harry Potter games we’ve gotten so far is not that they are largely templates of other, more familiar games, but that they are bad templates of other, more familiar games. Like, sure, I’d love to have a unique, expansive open-world RPG that sees you start out by choosing your

The new baby Switch announcement (and what sounds like another new Switch model that isn’t really a “Pro” so hopefully not in need of an upgrade yet) got me in the mood to do a lot of Switch playing this week, which obviously means more Splatoon 2 and Mario Maker 2 (I swear a good 70% of my posts here are just “yep

Hey, look, the answer to the question of what I’m playing this weekend is, in part, the subject of the article! I’m a real modern gamer!

I was on vacation all week and didn't play a single videogame. I have no idea what to play this weekend. I'm stuck. I have nothing major to finish up and I'm not sure what to start. Maybe I'll rent Mario maker

I’ve played about 15 minutes of WU on my wife’s phone. I enjoy the spell tracing part because it reminds me of that halloween google doodle from a few years back. The google doodle is better, however.

Long time, no talk everyone. Used to be tmda in the previous life, gulox2 now. Anyway, happy to try to jump back into the fray here and talk about games.

Greetings, all hail the Gameological Society WAYPTW thread denizens!

This is making me nostalgic for the five minutes i tried playing Pokemon Go. Oh wait, no it isn’t.

I feel like Wizards United has to be a disappointment. It’s not getting nearly the press they Pokemon Go did and isn’t “taking the world by storm”. I think the main reason is that Pokémon just sorta make sense as a walking ARG for your phone. Harry Potter just doesn’t have aspects that fit that genre well.

I returned BotW to the library and I haven’t really missed it. I imagine I’ll get it when it drops to a reasonable price and then play it, but it’s not Wind Waker, which is far and away my favorite Zelda game.

I am about to get fed up with Resident Evil 4 and send it back to Gamefly. I made it through the castle, and

Backlogged: Sleeping in the Stables Edition

I’ve spent this week replaying Hitman the 2016 Hitman game that’s called Hitman as though there were no previous games with that title and goddamn this game is still dope.

Now about half way through Brutal Legend. Three Stage Battles completed, onto the second half of the map, and General Lionwhyte (Rob Halford, camping it up) defeated.

I like the Harry Potter but (or at least I did as a kid) but I hate everything else about it. I used to be indifferent, but with the rise of The Wizarding World films I’ve none from largely ignoring the extended franchise to disdaining the whole thing.

Parkitect is a game where you design a theme park, much like the various Theme Park/Rollercoaster Tycoon/etc. games out there. I’ve been curious about the genre and decided to go this route. Blame it on all the Defunctland I watch. It’s kinda nice, I got past the first basic scenario and am still learning the ropes.

Salutations~!

I have a friend who lost a lot of weight playing Pokemon Go. It was super hot where he lived, so he would have to get up at 5 am to beat the heat, and he would be wandering around his neighborhood for about 2 hours every morning, and he said the only other people he encountered for the first hour were other Pokemon Go

Hey all! Just been running through Spider-man. Deep into the third act with about half the baddies still to collect. I have more or less done everything side-content wise. Still a couple combat and drone challenges, I am much less terrible at the latter, but still. It has become a bit much with the Sable outposts, the
