Didn’t you hear? Anything can be an acronym now!

I’m of a similar mind to you though, this doesn’t make much sense. At one point I thought they were going the way of Tesla though, and were gonna have an E and Y model so they could be like “ayyyy look at our S.E.X.Y. Xbox’s!”. Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to have

Oh, that's brilliant. Though I don't know if I'm going to go full illusionist or not.

I put down Dark Souls when I hit a glowing butterfly because I got tired of grinding. Switched to the PS4 for Dishonored 2 and Spider-Man, but I need to get back to it before I lose the controls and have to start over again.

I remember hearing about Max Payne. And also The Matrix. I remember side-stepping both, as I didn’t have a current-gen console for a couple years after Max Payne’s release and by the time I got one there were just so many games out on PS2, and my brother sat me down in 2003 to make me watch the entire Matrix trilogy.

Backlogged: Threadbare Edition

Still working my way through Persona Q2, it’s a blast and I’m loving just doing the short side missions for the fun pairings of characters from the games.

Hello all! Not much new to report this week. The Xbox One X, which I will from here on out just call an XBOX, has been treating me well, though I have yet to take it for a full joyride. I had to fiddle with the TV to get the picture right, so I mostly just putzed about in Sea of Thieves while I was calibrating the TV.

Been playing Bloodstained. I didn't back the Kickstarter but it's a fantastic game. It's almost too close to SOTN at times but I'm not complaining. There are a few rough edges but nothing too bad yet.

Some of my favorite moments in Katana Zero were when I repeated a segment to the point that I was deflecting bullets WITHOUT slowing anything down.

Well last weekend I made a, shall we say, judgment impaired Amazon purchase. A 32" 1440p 144hz gaming monitor, an upgrade from the 24" 1080p 144hz I’ve been using for a couple years. I knew it was going to be big, but I couldn’t believe how big the box was and then I saw the monitor itself. I thought, “This is bigger

I got Breath of the Wild out of the library on Sunday and played it a bit - I just got off the plateau last night. Everyone loves it, so I don’t need to gush. I skipped Skyward Sword, so this this is my first Zelda in quite a while. I am finding the weapon/shield breaking mechanic to be a little frustrating, but I’m

I’m playing Mario + Rabbids on the switch. It’s a very strange game, but I like it. I think the Sims 4 is also happening, because mermaids.

Greetings, my fellow Gameological Society amigos,

After reading about it for years, hearing about the upcoming film adaptation has finally prompted me to start on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I’ve been through all Bioware’s Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, so it’s a bit like visiting a nursing home to meet their grandparent. In fact, I wasted quite a bit

For once, I finished all of my work assignments well in advance of the weekend (although I bet some project manager in Europe somewhere is just waiting to drop a big translation project on me right this second...), so I hope to get some good gaming time in (oh, and also visiting with actual human beings I know). Right

I’m all over another game with a gimmick this weekend. I got Cadence of Hyrule earlier this week and played it yesterday on the train to my parents’ house for the first time (not ideal, I know). The first... 20/30 minutes were BRUTAL. Admittedly, I haven’t played the original Necrodancer (I might do it once I’m done

Replayed the original Dead Rising for the first time in many years. A really unique experience that holds up pretty well, partly because there’s nothing else quite like it and partly because the things about it that are dodgy now were also seen as dodgy back when it was released, such as the atrocious AI and

Probably gonna get some Dark Souls 3 in, since I didn’t find time last weekend

The slo-mo as you shot arrows while falling was one of the things I liked in Breath of the Wild. Thought it was a good use of the stamina mechanic.

Played some more Dying Light. It’s a game that shines in the exploration and freedom it gives you with its various systems but the meat of the game (missions, story) are too generic and uninteresting. I do applaud the game for putting its own spin on the zombie genre and adding some elements to spice things up even
