Ace Attorney deserves a king spot on this list. Amazing games that have crazy sharp writing and plotting. Yeah they’re linear but if that’s the price to pay for cases as brilliant as the ones in these games then I’ll pay that price happily. Plus it does amazing work to put you in the mind of Phoenix and his friends

HOW do we not have more Gabriel Knight?!?! They re-released the first game and did a great job. Its time for 4 and to deal with Ghosts as was foretold in 3. For that matter, how has someone like HBO not optioned this IP into a KILLER series. Talk about prestige TV. Can you imagine McConaughey playing Gabriel?  Man it

I have been in a hacking & slashing mood and my only gaming system is a Nintendo Switch, so of course I got . . . Cat Quest. It was pretty fun but also pretty short, so once I finished that I scrounged up some $$$ and got Diablo III: Eternal Collection. I am only a few hours into Act I (yes, I am slow & explore/clear

Now playing

Hello all! Nice roundup of contemporary detective games, always nice to explore different genres than the standard shooters or platformers. I have to say it’s the genre I probably have the least experience in, having basically just played Phoenix Wright. I still love returning to those games when I’ve forgotten enough

I am still playing Sekiro. I’m in NG+ and have reached the boss fight at the end of the second Hirata Estate memory, and he’s a bastard. I’ve managed to get to his second stage only a couple of times, so I still have to bang my head against him for awhile longer.

I had to take a hiatus from Sekiro. I’ll come back in a few weeks and beat it. For now, I rented Ace Combat 7 for another week and the campaign is starting to get very hard. I’m on a mission where you have to destroy oil trucks in sandstorm while drones are shootings endless missiles at you. It’s fun.

So I’ve been pretty slammed with work even having to do some travel for it so I have not been gaming much but I got back Thursday night and instead of jumping straight into Apex which is my norm now, I decided to peruse my back catalogue for something new. I found Night in the Woods and decided to give that a try.  I

Last weekend we wrapped up our first Shadowrun 5th Edition mission in Chicago, with the group finishing out their Geek Squad job to repair the ad-hoc smuggler internet grid over the CZ, “re-appropriate” the deed to a lab that one of the Big Ten corporations wanted (all while finding the cloning operation and evidence

I’m getting to the end of new (to me) Bloodborne content, which is sort of bumming me out. The DLC is legitimately fantastic, and I think it supplants Artorias of the Abyss as my favorite DLC of the series—it’s just such a great arc from beginning to end, and I loved all the boss fights. (Well, except Laurence. Fuck

What Have You Finished This Week?

Salutations~!

Wellll, isn’t this serendipitous! I just came over to talk about the game I finished this last week, Detective Pikachu! More interactive novel than spicy sleuthing, it not only prepared me for the upcoming movie, but has given me a personal interest in these things called Pokemon for the first time.

The original came

So, I have a new game drive for the PS4, which has let me install a couple new things and also fix some others.

The list above reminded me of The Sexy Brutale which always deserves a shout-out. While somewhat half-baked itself, the game has plenty of charm and is just the right length to leave a great impression.

I have fond memories of a group of friends hunching over one family’s Apple II, playing Deadline, all of us reading the dialogue aloud in awful Clouseau-esque French accents.

Meanwhile, Her Interactive has quietly made over 30 Nancy Drew mystery games. It’s sad that the studio’s fate seems so precarious now, but I guess 30-something games isn’t a bad run.

Greetings, Fellowship of the WAYPTW thread,

Gonna play Sekiro and cry a lot

Hey all, not much going on for me in gaming right now (too much work!!!) except that I am definitely already hooked on Baba Is You and about 45 puzzles in. I think I need to just set aside a couple of specific puzzles that I am totally and completely stumped on, and move on with other ones. The game is pretty

On the docket for this weekend:
