Pretty much same as always. I’m several tiers away from getting the Dark Voyager in Fortnite, so that’s going to be awesome. I’m about half way down with the weekly challenge, so I probably won’t get it until next week’s challenges unfortunately. My squad and I tested out the heavy shotgun, and it’s as good as it

This weekend, I’ll be playing more Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory. I just went through part of a quest where my companion tried to get me to hit on girls in order to convince one of them to help me hack a server. It didn’t make much sense. What I did want to note, though, is how much more male-driven

After sinking a shitload of time into Horizon Zero Dawn, I’m using Undertale as a palate cleanser. It’s as adorable as advertised. After I killed the first boss (who had made me a pie) I felt bad so I googled to see if there was a no-kill option. I restarted the game for a no-kill run and after sparing the first boss

Picked up Yakuza 0. So far really good. You do have to sit through a lot of cutscenes but the writing is so great I can’t complain too much- not only is the fundamental premise really good (fighting over the last scrap of undeveloped land at the height of Japan’s economic bubble) but the characterization is sharp and

I started Bloodborne a week or so ago after it went free on PS Plus. I’ve always been really drawn to the theme and aesthetic, but I’m not very good at combat in games so was put off by the difficulty. For free though, I figured I’d give it a shot, and it wouldn’t cost me anything if I got frustrated and gave up.

Till chipping away at Final Fantasy X. Finished up Mount Gagazet and am moving into Zanarkand. Something about this game, it is quickly becoming my favorite of the FF’s I’ve played. Knowing nothing about the additional material x-2 and bonus missions, I’m really curious to see what else is in store for me.

Sea of Thieves is officially out, and I plan on sailing the high seas with my brothers tonight! (I’ve only played about 4 hours of the released game, so take my opinion with a grain of salt) (get it? Salt?).There have been a lot of release week hiccups, but so far Rare has done a good job addressing them as they come

I’ve been looking at Detective Pikachu for a while now, and Will’s comments are now making me slightly hesitant to jump in this weekend. I was hoping the challenges would be a little steeper, but when it comes to narrative, I will still keep an eye on it for the near future.

Hi folks! It’s been a minute since I’ve had time to stop by the WAYPTW thread. Having several different projects in the final stages at work means I barely have time to sit at my desk, let alone hang out in the comment sections of this fine site. But anyway, let’s talk about the games I’ve been playing!

Pokemon grew way faster than my patience for it’s gameplay style but I’m glad people are still out there enjoying it. I recently tried to give the new Hawaii versions (sun and moon right?) a try but it still didnt click with me. Gold is where I left off and that was a good stopping point for me.

I’m not playing much these days, too busy with work and other projects. I’m still, ridiculously, grinding through The Binding of Isaac. Well over 500 hours in at this point - I may have a problem, but I still play a game or two most days. I’m trying to finish The Keeper’s achievements - all I have left is defeating

Now playing

I’ve spent much of the past week playing Kirby Star Allies and being really quite pleased with it. The main series of Kirby games have been a real roller coaster for me ever since the original Dream Land came out and my neighbor let me play it on their Game Boy if I helped them at their lemonade stand. There have been

Deus Ex Mankind Divided got me shook. Been a while since a game hooked my compulsive side this well but I’ve been staying up late everynight to climb through vents, hack safes and get into moral debates about drug use in mob basements for nights now. The game isn’t perfect. The story lacks momentum and the “maybe the

Got the new Kirby game, but waiting for us to get all the moons in Mario Odyssey first. Given that we maybe drop 2-3 hours a week on it, I’m assuming we will get to Kirby in 2022. It’s possible this plan is not a good one.

After over two months, I finally finished Deus Ex (original game, PS2 port - though played on a PS3). I can’t entirely blame the game’s length for this - I’ve had a lot on and not much free time for game playing - but having said that, it was pretty fucking long for what is basically an FPS. Especially if, like me,

Dragon Age:Inquisition is still taking up my time (when I finally got Origin working again, as that decided last week to refuse to start). Bloody hell, that game is huge. I discovered an entire banqueting hall and library in Skyhold I hadn’t previously found, have several whole lands I haven’t even visited yet, and

Salutations~!

Played a few more hours of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Did the Proving, fought some cool beasts and on my way to Meridian now. In between those things, a story-bombshell was delivered through some great cutscenes. The cinematic influence is obvious but it works. Not a big fan of one of the more interesting characters being so

OK, this is not going to win me any upvotes this week, but here we go...

I seem to be falling into the same trap that my esteemed colleague Wolfman Jew has mentioned here recently: I’m writing so much (in my case, translating) about video games that I don’t seem to have much time to play:
- Translating the usual slow-but-steady flow of new texts for the French MMORPGs Dofus and Wakfu.
