Work has been a killer these days, so I’m lucky to play an hour of anything. However, I’m slowly going through Mass Effect 2. While I prefer the more streamlined style of gameplay, I miss some of the RPG elements of the first game, particularly character backstories. They’re virtually nonexistent aside from a brief

I’ll see how I feel, but with the rest of the content on the disc calling along with several other games, I just don’t think I can invest that kind of time. I think that sums up being an adult for me...

I shouldn’t be playing anything, or meandering around kinja for that matter, with all the things I need to get done this weekend, but I will inevitably do some monster hunting, both in PS4's World and the Switch’s XX. Besides being fun games, they also make a really cool cat Valhalla. It’s fun to spend time chasing

I’m still slowly making my way the DS3. I’ve explored most of the Cathedral of the Deep—though I’m sure there’s plenty left to find, given the size of the damn area—and after some reservations about my chances against the giants(I guess just attacking the ankles is a valid strategy!), I beat the Deacons of the Deep

On the docket for this weekend:

I have become a little overwhelmed with good games to play. That on top of my building anxiety about my upcoming move in a few weeks makes it hard to sit stationary for more than an hour.

Well, if I’m being honest, the final beta of Sea of Thieves is this weekend.

So, yeah...that. I know I’ve waxed on it a lot, but man is it a fun game. They are adding more content to this beta than the stress tests, so thankfully that will add to the variety! Plus it’s an open beta, so no more need to download the Xbox

While I haven’t been playing as much as I’d like, I’ve still been doing a variety of things. There’s the usual Fire Emblem Heroes, where today I learned about conferring elemental blessings. The thing I played most extensively since last week has been Golf Story, which has been evolving in really fun ways (outside of

Last week I left a short comment disparaging Rime as kinda meh but I would like to retract that comment as Rime won me over wholly by the end and joined the rare club of games (joining red dead redemption and gone home) that made me cry.

I decided to take a stab at the now Morgan banner in FEH, and while I didn’t get any of the newbies, I did get Micaiah, a very interesting unit I’ll have to get a feel for. It looks like you can turn her into a wounded damage cannon of merciless wrath or an incredible enemy phase mage tank, and I don’t know which

Still on my Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth+ bullshit. (Last night I beat ??? as Blue Baby on Hard Mode and was pretty pleased with myself. I’m making slow progress into Greed mode, haven’t unlocked “Greedier” yet. I think I’m getting better at the game, but it can still be immensely frustrating at times. I should

I also played Florence last week and it was... fine? I could certainly see myself using it as an example when discussing interactive art as an effective storytelling medium, and the way it translated every day activities into WarioWare-style minigames was at times interesting (I particularly liked the metaphor of

Not sure what I’ll be playing this weekend. Been toying around with Bloodborne now that there’s an influx of online players. If you’re a noob who is struggling, I recommend sticking with the game until you have gotten your first Insight. Besides allowing you to level up, this will let you purchase the co-op bell. Ring

There’s something about Passive Fist that’s intriguing. Maybe it’s because the cutscenes remind me of Full Throttle? Maybe I should play Full Throttle. Actually, Mortician’s Tale and Florence sound nice too. I guess I’m receptive this morning!

Playing:

Bloodborne is now free on PSPlus. I have yet to get very far in Dark Souls, since I drift away for a bit and forget how the controls work and so have to relearn whenever I pick it up again, but... maybe this time will be different.

I haven’t really played much this week, alas, though I did bung a new HDD in my PC on Wednesday. This has left me with plenty of room to re-install some games from my Steam library, mainly ones I’d never really got around to playing properly before. One of those happened to be Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

As far as what I’m actually playing this weekend (aside from more Into the Breach, of course):

What Have You Finished This Week?

Hmm, tricky question. If we were talking tech industry, that’s the napkin/bathroom charge per use approach, i.e. shelling out printers on the cheap because the ink cartridges cost an arm and a leg and then they get arbitrarily discontinued to drum up sales on a newer model. Or OS disks that auto-format during
