I will talk more about this tomorrow but I am surprised at how much pathos Kingdom Come: Deliverance has served up in the brief five hours I have been playing it.

I think that “orderly chaos [of nature]” sounds fun in theory, but I’m still on the fence about the concept of hunting these animals. When it comes to most games, I don’t really take killing of creatures or enemies deeply to heart, but I’ve tried a demo of MH4U, and I really didn’t care for it. It was the presentation…
It’s sort of anthology style in that the main stories are unrelated. But there’s a sort of shared universe that’s shoehorned in. It doesn’t overwhelm “10 Cloverfield Lane,” which is mostly self contained. But it’s painfully obvious that the decision to make “Paradox” part of the Clover-verse (trademark pending)…
Back in high school I purchased something called the “Mr. T in Your Pocket” that quickly became beloved and well-used by my friend group to annoy nerds we found to be annoying. And when I graduated, my favorite teacher asked if I would donate it to him for use with future annoying students:
On the subject of Brainsuckers: IIRC, I think there are two types of Brainsuckers: the regular and the elite, spell-throwing fuckers. Honestly, I’ve had very few problems with them (not bragging) in my playthrough, but I attribute that partially to sheer dumb luck and the rest to my very cautious play-style. I have,…
Hah, We’ve taken the same path through MonHun, both getting the H:ZD gear in a mad dash before the time ran out. I’m glad it’s good equipment but I’m up to Rathalos and haven’t found better. I liked dressing up my kitty, but I have had to pass up so many cute outfits because the defense was subpar.
Yeah Monster Hunter vs SoC is an interesting comparison. I think the key is most Monster Hunter beasts are actively trying to kill you so its not hard to want to fight back. The Colossi are mostly just ignoring you or trying to push you away from them. Most of the time the challenge of SoC is hanging on while this…
I’ve been playing a lot of Yakuza Kiwami. I just played a few rounds of Odd or Even with my adopted daughter some random orphan and then smashed up a gambling house. Fun times.
Ok! Work is crazy busy right now, but I’m here for my (short) lunch break! The big news this week is that my partner and I finished Night in the Woods! This one really gripped us, with multiple hour sessions for a few nights in a row to finish it out. I was especially taken with the characters and their…
I finally finished Cuphead! It only took me four months, but yay! While I respect the craftsmanship that was put into this game, I’m not sure I’ll ever play it again simply because of how long it took me to finish it. The Devil himself was also surprisingly easy given how the whole game was building to that point.
Hello everyone!
This weekend is the last weekend before I give my friend a video game I’m making for his birthday.
It’s Mario Time.
Aside from Derrick’s answer, I’d probably go with the collective Achievement names in Mass Effect 3. I like the idea of Achievements using names that are a bit obtuse until you actually achieve them, which I think is more interesting than just blocking out or censoring the name, and 3 does that a bit. You don’t get…
I’m a few weeks behind on my updates, but I finally, finally, FINALLY beat Persona 5. I know a lot of people say the game kind of peters out in last palace, but I’m wondering which palace they mean? Is it the cruise ship? Or Mementos? Because if it’s Mementos, I guess I can see what they mean if they haven’t been…
This week, I have been mostly playing Magic Duels on Steam. Finished the story mode for the Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch blocks, and started the story mode for the Shadows over Innistrad block.
Not really the name exactly, but my favourite “achievements” are from Fallout New Vegas: “A Slave Obeys” for killing Mr House with a golf club, and “Historical Propriety” for killing Caesar with a knife.
DOOM is so good. I wasn’t anticipating playing it, as I tend to avoid shooters like the plague, but after I’d heard enough critics talk it up and discovered that the enemies are all monstrous demons (rather than human avatars) I gave it a go last Fall. Of course I loved it, as it was one of the more effective…
“Link’s Awakening is the best 2-D Zelda game” - It would be a contender if Nintendo released a version that let you use more buttons. Two buttons is just not enough for a game designed around A Link to the Past’s control scheme, having to constantly equip and unequip items to let you use your sword, your shield, your…
In a dark twist, Monster Hunter World tells you that captured monsters are released back into the wild after being studied, but capturing them actually unlocks quests where you fight the monsters in trap-filled arenas.
It’s a shame that No Man’s Sky had such a divisive release because the game you get now is so very different to the one that I purchased on day one.
