I agree this is an absurd amount of Star Wars, but if I may beat this dead horse for a moment; Johnson hasn’t backpedaled once. He’s taken time to explain obvious aspects of the movie to people who didn’t agree with his creative choices and want to reframe their feelings as a failure of his filmmaking.
I don’t think Disney realizes how dangerously close they are to poisoning their brand. Yes, people go ape for Star Wars (I love Star Wars, was raised on the originals) - but the issue is that people haven’t been going ape as of late.

I appreciate that Tilly isn’t a traditional body type for Trek, which tends to put people in pretty form-fitting jump suits and cast super slender actors as a result. I wouldn’t say that I find her personality grating, but I’d like to see a few Tilly-centric episodes in the future that flesh her out a bit.
