One of whom was Stephen Miller, which I will never get over.

I’m only just now learning about the Depeche Mode thing. What is it about these types that attract them to artists whose message is diametrically opposed to their own? This one isn’t even subtle, it’s in the freaking title!

Kirk thought he was the face, but it turns out he was the heel all along.

If Lorca had thrown down the disruptor and pulled one of these on a Klingon guard, I would have been set.

I got a fight scene where somebody got cold-clocked with an awkward, clasped, double fist swing punch! It took 5 episodes, but Trek is back, baby!

When I lived in Germany in 2007, I learned that intermissions can be a duel edged sword. On the one hand, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End was so freaking long, the intermission was greatly appreciated just to get a break from it. On the other hand, it meant I had to endure that mess even longer.

I did,

I read through, got to that part and thought, “Yep, this checks out.”

I think you and I had opposite experiences. I started with the then newest episode, Rick Potion #9, when I was recovering from surgery because I had nothing better to do, and the twist surprised me so much I was immediately sold on the show.

I’ll grant that the first episode isn’t great, but since they follow it up

Yep, pretty sure this checks out.

Ironically it’s climate change that will ultimately destroy Trump’s beloved Mar-a-Lago.

As a poster who (I’m pretty sure) used to be ungreyed on io9 and got greyed at some point later, I can sympathize and I’m so, so sorry.

On the plus side, it probably won’t be long on io9 before they notice you’re greyed and fix it.

And in that episode Riker talked about sexuality only in binary terms, even though human sexuality is more complicated than that now let alone almost 350 years in the future.

Eh, he was presumably a kid when he watched it, so I’ll give it to him that he had a reason for missing a lot of the subtext.

The powers of the worm admirals to protect the Federation are very substantial, and will not be questioned.

It still amazes me that the guy grew up a Star Trek fan.

Granted, he probably cast all that “SJW” and “PC” stuff aside when he told his fellow fan and friend that they couldn’t be friends anymore because he was Latino.

I mean, did he just miss... all of it?

If you’ve got about seven minutes, this video lays out how and why he talks like that, and it probably has a lot to do with why he was so successful in the campaign.
