My issues with TLJ are multiple, though after recently rewatching it my partner and I both agreed that the high points of the film were better than we originally gave it credit for. Neither of us found the “subversion” inherent in TLJ to be very interesting or compelling, aside from Luke’s arc. We still continue to

I’ve already seen “Next Level”, as it was released in France last Wednesday. When I commented on it on Facebook, I actually used that very phrase, “more of the same”. Outside of the body swapping thing, which doesn’t result in anything significant, they haven’t really developed new jokes. It’s more extended DLC than a

Yeah, I think Taika did a really bad job directing it. The faux-Wes Anderson style didn’t fit, and there was so much originality left on the table, especially for the Hitler scenes, which could’ve at least been filmed interestingly or fantastically. Instead the movie’s pretty bland looking with a very maudlin

The desperate need for validation of taste surrounding fans of comic book movies (geek culture as a whole?) is kinda fascinating.

The worst movie I saw this year was JoJo Rabbit. It offended me not as a Jew, as Seinfeld might say, but as a comedy lover. Hitler is used as little more than a twee sight gag and the movie has little else to offer to make up for it. What’s super weird too is that the comedy is essentially pasted on to an extremely

Are you the Angry White Guy(TM) or the parody of an Angry White Guy? Poe’s Law and all that...

How did we spend so much time talking about this one?

cue all the butthurt incels to defend Joker

Or, you know, people have different opinions than you and the rankings were based on a collection of lists submitted by a variety of writers and Joker came in 20th on said list.

never have I felt more talked-down-to by a film than Joker

Joker doesn’t belong on a worst movies list, but I will say about Ma that, unlike Joker, it knew what it was, executed that well, and entertained in the process.

I kind of enjoyed Joker, but it’s the worst kind of movie. Which is to say, it’s a film that purports to be about serious things, but doesn’t have anything to say beyond how terrible the way it is, because it can’t commit to anything. The best you can say about it is that it’s an examination of how white male

I clicked on the headline thinking I’d get a link to the movie trailer.

Morbius, the living vampire, is getting his own solo superhero movie starring Jared Leto next year ...

That’s the point. It is meant to indict the media allowing the trumpers to flee further into their bubble. The villain of the film is not the actual terrorist but the media. No one argues that the media did not get it wrong or that Jewell wasn’t screwed over by the FBI.  So who is this film for besides people who are

Well, the initial news was real. The FBI did consider him a suspect. Just the conjecture afterwards that wasn't.

Who wouldn’t want to bang C-3PO? He can cum in over 6 million forms of communication.

I don’t think your wife is uber-vanilla if she’s willing to peg you.

Thank you! Fury Road isn’t even the best Mad Max movie (not even second best, imo), let alone the best of the decade. I enjoyed it, but it’s a popcorn flick fueled entirely by stunts and cinematography. Does that make it bad? No, but it’s pretty damn one note.

Go home, wingnut.
