Trump’s speeches are the same thing a comedian does when they perform at “City X.”

Did anyone see the portrait of Donald Trump painted in menstrual blood? It gives me feelings. Like on the one hand, HAHAHAHA, but on the other hand he doesn’t even deserve the attention.

You’re right. White people should just stop playing music whose origins can be traced back to black musicians. Absolutely no black music for whitey! The same is of course not true for black artists who want to perform music written by white people, like classical music or classical ballet (Misty Copeland anybody).

Publishing a repeatedly rejected poem because the author’s name sounds Asian this time around is the same as awarding a Michelin star to a restaurant with repeated low reviews / health inspector violations, because the head chef recently came out as transgender-curious.

tl;dr Straight white men objectively face individual small hardships for being straight, white, and male. I think we, as the activist/progressive movement, should be able to acknowledge those hardships’ existence at the same time as we recognize that they must happen to serve the goal of greater justice.

the lefties are feklempt abt this white guy - who used his privilege to hide his identity and was actually then published. It’s okay to admit that minorities, apparently, are just not good enough -and what’s rejected for a white guy is accepted for an Asian man - it’s okay - we all knew it anyway - women, the blacks,

Genuinely stunned that a person who was rejected 40+ times continues to persevere. Man, I was rejected twice and gave up. I need a tiny bit of this guy’s chutzpah.

Didn’t a female Buzzfeed writer do something similar. She sent in her book under her name to many different reps and got many rejections, but when she sent it under a man’s name not only did she get more constructive criticism, she also received a faster turn around time?

I’m not sure I agree with his reasoning either, but his strategy worked. He got published. And we’re discussing the poem. And we’re discussing the political implications of his name. Which, if you believe his sincerity, was the whole point. And these discussions are kind of the whole point of getting published.

I am American. As you’ve pointed out, other countries have laws different from the U.S.

The problem is that literally not a single one of his actions suggests that he has grown up, and instead he’s acting like he deserves to be forgiven when he has done absolutely nothing that would incite forgiveness. He still plays the songs, he still uses problematic slurs, and we are supposed to absolve him because

Black woman here. I love hip hop and have actually worked (tangentially) in and around the music industry for years.

Tyler said that he thought addressing his fans’ threats might actually rile them up and worsen the situation, and insisted that by tweeting at Alison, he was trying to strike up a dialogue with her. “I wanted everyone to see that I was trying to speak to her like a regular person,” he said. “[Coralie Alison] never

No country is obliged to give a visa to anyone. Here is a very short list of some of the people who have been denied visas to enter the USA (some were subsequently readmitted): Amy Winehouse, Boy George, Nigella Lawson, Lily Allen, Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), etc.

I’ve never quite known what to think of Tyler. Part of me thinks he is incredibly smart and a savvy businessman, and he reminds me a lot of the guys I hung out with in high school or a new wave Bam Margera. Part of me fucking HATES HIS SMUG FACE AND STUPID MUSIC because dear god...Tyler you may say that the shit on
