The Wall Street Journal is into Nintendo games now? That's cool, I guess.

"Guys? Guys. This is wrong, but I'm going to vote for it until you all learn the error of your ways and tell me it's okay to vote otherwise."

Mother knows best.

Thems 're eatin' cows.

I'm pretty angry at this fucking national "I don't like trump but will vote for his policies and then talk a big game" campaign he's on. Fuck that guy and fuck his bus.

I think he did shit on an infant, though.

Sasse is a coward who will never actually stand up to his party. He doesn't support an independent counsel and votes party line every time. Also, I was trying to get home after work once and his campaign bus was blocking the street by the capitol. I didn't know who this Sasse fellow was, but I vowed then and there to

I thought the nod was more of a barely- restrained "fuck yeah."

Great Books, Connections… TLC had some really good shows.

My officemate's father was tortured by the CIA-trained henchmen of the Shaw of Iran in the 70s. He said that the CIA trained them to beat the bottoms of people's feet with cables because it was excruciatingly painful. I think in this case, it fit both the concrete and metaphorical well.

It's a label identifying a subset of asshole that helps specify the particular assholish behavior of that bag of assholes.

Right. It was because she was laughing at Jeff Sessions for telling such an absurd lie. Is Sessions going to be going to prison, too, for lying to congress during a confirmation hearing? I mean, this is such a law-and-order administration; I'd have to think he'll be in there with her. Then again, she did laugh.

I completely agree. They took the easy way around the casting issue.

That was probably a legitimate casting concern. It's really bad form to have an all-time cast, even if the function of that is to turn a spotlight on racism and the US's terrible record on institutional racism. There were probably workarounds available via flashbacks, but they went for the 'racism is over!' route.

Who needs fiction? Today, a woman was convicted of laughing at Jeff Sessions and faces a year in prison!

The Battle of Britain came with a hefty book (as a lot of games used to) that had a LOT of historical information about the battle itself and various letters and interview transcripts from survivors. One story that really stuck with me was about an RAF pilot who had shot up a German bomber. He watched everyone bail

I think the final scene would have been better without the over-bearing pop music cue. That sort of turned it into a music video with the rapid cuts. I think a wide shot of her centered in the sterile room that lingered while she broke down would have been almost unbearably appropriate. The quick cuts and blaring song

Evil Otto from Berzerk.
Eta God damn it. Not only is this article a month old, someone already said this exact same thing.

R.O.B.'s Sounding R.O.D.™

I didn't watch it until years after the hype and come and gone; I got it from a place that was clearing out old laserdiscs and thought I'd finally give it a go. I agree. It's an effective horror film removed from the hype-backlash cycle.
