Dolphin has a nice front end that let's you set up your WiiMote as long as you have a Bluetooth dongle. I have a little cheapy one I picked up for 20 bucks or so. When I need the wiibar, I just sync the controller with my PC and then turn on the wii. It will power the bar just fine and not try to take over the

It sounds awesome!

I thought Black Friday and Boxing Day were the same thing— the day you go to the store and punch people for a 27" TV you'd never consider buying any other time of the year.

Running it in Dolphin Emulator is AMAZING, though. It is kind of a bummer to see what the Wii could have done with just a little boost to the hardware. I don't think it needs more polygons, even— just a little more resolution makes Mario Kart Wii, Xenoblade, and definitely Galaxy look considerably better.

Is… is that real?

If it were between $200 and $250, I'd have one. That 300 dollar mark just feels like a bigger hurdle than an extra 50 dollars should. I think it's because for $300 I'm almost to a PS4 or XboxOne and definitely to a 360 (there are games on there I want to play), so, instead, I'll just spend money on my bikes. I'm not

Yeah, now I see that Tom's didn't even test with a C2D and an i3 was only able to choke out about 30fps with a GTX 780 (That was at Ultra settings, though).

Flyback transformers were the worst thing in my apartment. They drive me nuts whether the CRT is HD or not. Also, LCDs are way easier to steal; don't forget that.

I know that they had to allow 3rd party games on the console, but it was really, really disappointing how they half-assedly used motion controls. While playing Madden was actually a lot of fun and kind of intuitive, I played other games where required aimless waggling didn't make any sense in relation to what was

I overclocked my Orchid Righteous3D and can get nearly 35!

I didn't say that they didn't look good or even great, but have you used a CRT tv recently? The change from "can't read the text" to "can read the text" and interlaced to non-interlaced is a bigger jump. The qualitative changes are scaling differently than the quantitative changes.

And modding!

I was just talking to a friend about this the other night— not about your getting old, but about the worthwhile-ness of upgrading consoles. There were HUGE changes from generation to generation up until the PS2's class. They had figured out how to do the 3D thing pretty well without needing to compress textures too

What are you currently running? An i3, C2D or some dual core AMD? Just wondering. I'd bet that you would do okay with a video card upgrade. CPUs matter, but they don't matter that much. I gave my old HD4890 to a friend who is still using it to run some fairly intense games on a C2D e7xxx (I don't remember which one

I'm drinking rum!

WOmen were stealing his mans. It's obvious, right?

I hope that this doesn't mean that fantasizing about winning the lottery makes me like Hitler! Though there is a guy at work who spends a sick amount of money on PowerBall… I'll have to print this passage and pin it up in his space somewhere…

Did he die while sleeping in his car? I guess I could just look it up, but, you know, conversations.

Chinese fire drill…

Me neither!
