@joe reader: Right on all accounts, although I think you'd be surprised about the Southwestern State U and their pay versus Stanford... the crummy public schools usually pay more than even some of the more prestigious private schools.

One comment — hate to say it, but college professors very rarely start anywhere near $70,000. I believe the average starting salary for an assistant professor at a 4-year private school is somewhere around $48,000. The tenure process can often take years and years, usually the minimum is 7 years, but if one school…
@I_Like_TDs: I know that the popular sentiment is that police, fire departments, and the military are 'socialist policies,' (at least, it is popular on, say, videogame blog comment sections), but those social institutions precede the collective advent of what anybody with a brain would consider 'socialism' by many…
It may not work, but I'd prefer they keep it up just to give people less to whine about.
@techfox: This sounds like one of those things that somebody would share on the internet or at a bar that isn't actually true...
I do and they have a lot of use. I know people like to pretend that all business is done online, or that everybody has an iPhone, but the value of giving somebody a business card when you first meet them ... say casually at a conference, or even in a face-to-face business meeting is strong.
I'm not sure what to think of screenshot #4... all 4 field members of one team are around the ball, in front of the person who has it, and he's bicycle kicking it towards the goal... while 3 of the 4 members of the other team are completely out of playing position to make any sort of defense on the ball, or even to…
@bangbangblah: Good for you... good goal to set. It's alright though, there's a score of glitches with franchise mode that need to be ironed out first... so you may as well wait.
@Strangelove: Strangelove, just responding to your first thing about base running...
IT's worth sharing a few things. There are some major, significant glitches that need to be patched in MLB 10 this year. Franchise AI team management is borked, enough so that everybody on sports gaming forums is waiting for an incoming patch before playing.
I voted ShrewSoft, but it's worth recognizing that a lot of people have Blue Screen issues with shrewsoft on Win7 64 bit and the program is almost impossible to uninstall.
I bookmarked this page just in case I need it.. should that scenario arise it'll be there for me just in time.
Sounds cool. Except I disagree with the name "BooksShouldbeFree" So... I won't go to the site for that reason.
@Dan Horne: Thanks for the suggestion Dan. There def. are problems with Cisco's VPN client (non-AnyConnect) and Win7 64-bit... google "Cisco VPN Win 7 64-Bit" .. it's filled with the trials and tribulations of a vast sea of humans trying to get VPN to work correctly on Win7.
@John Cleaver: Yeah, we don't have anyconnect setup server side and it's not compatible with what two of my clients have.
@oneshot719: Not with Cisco's old VPN
Great F-in question, but here's the problem Lifehacker.
@Michael Dukakis: It was whatever retail was for the for the PS3 a year ago, $50 for the controller, $60 for the game, +tax.
MLB The Show 10... Can't wait. I spent $500 on MLB '09 last year, after yet another trash game of 2K and I couldn't take it anymore. Very pleased to have a PS3 for this one.
@OW-Holmes: That's my point. There isn't a causal relationship between popular media, war representations, and enlistment.
