Wolverines and Buckeyes are rivals the way my corporate VP brother with the MBA and I (a freelancer) are “rivals” at tax time.

Well, he does work for Deadspin.
The conference as a whole still went 5-5, when many expected them to be 0-10. Ohio St wasn’t supposed to beat Alabama. MSU was supposed to get destroyed by Baylor, in Dallas. Not exactly trash.
So, put another way: “Take out the best teams from this conference, and this conference was slightly below .500 in bowl games, helped in part only because they had arguably the best running back in the country on one of those remaining teams!”
Why are we taking out 2 teams? Take out 2 teams from almost all conference, and they all suck. “The Big 12 went 0-5!”
Having a Duke student give us a rundown on college football is a waste of everyone’s time.
I’ll take the BIG Ten over the ACC or Big 12 any day of the week
So basically Deadspin’s position is every conference sucks, except the Pac-12, but the SEC is the least sucky of the non-Pac-12 conferences?
fixed for accuracy
The Big Ten is slow, often unwatchable, and largely mediocre. And yet, they’ll win more noncoference games than they’ll lose, have a winning bowl record, and at least one team will be in the playoffs and probably playing for the title. Nobody will see it coming, and complain about more exciting, albeit probably…
Mike D’antonio
Aren’t you the guy who fucked up the Michigan article with a host of factual errors and responded to calls for corrections with shadow edits and personal insults?
Yup.
Moving on.
