I think they were together, maybe? I read the first issue of Stormwatch and that's about it. In Midnighter #1, it's definitely implied that the two have been together.

As a Nocenti fan, this piqued my interest. She's had a lot of trouble doing mainstream comics over the last couple years and I'd be ok seeing someone else take a shot at her style.

I hated the first issue of Darkseid War but it's already more engaging to me than Secret Wars is for me. At least some of that for me is my general aversion to event series that are also alternative universe stories, ie Flashpoint, X-Termination.

Midnighter is more of an homage to Batman's visuals and role on a superhero team than he is full on pastiche. I didn't keep up with his appearances in Stormwatch but it seems like he and Apollo were life-partners that have separated, not necessarily divorced in the New 52.

Midnighter was super, super good. I'm definitely on board for that one. I liked Omega Man as well and definitely will be on board for a couple more issues.

The big stuff I read:

That's definitely the one I quote the most.

Honestly, it's a real toss up between "George likes his kung pow spicy" and "The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli" for my favorite George line, and possibly, favorite Seinfeld line.

As Liz Lemon once said, "My memories have Seinfeld money."

Other than the hair change, he's looked like this since Avengers Arena in 2012.

I think it's just me and Dennis Duffy at this point.

"NO, BUT YOU HAD TO GET THE BIG TWITTER OUTRAGE."

These pretzels are making him thirsty.

That was the best part of the Susan arc to me, just seeing how visibly uncomfortable everyone was around her.

M'Turtle.

I was mostly being facetious. My main point is that it's going to be incredibly difficult for me to muster up anything more than general indifference to the plight of those poor multi-millionaire execs who made frequent spelling errors in all their emails.

I can't wait to see this important film covering an event that impacted a bunch of obscenely wealthy people and basically no one else.

PAYABO 4 LYFE

Upvoted for the visual of a panicked TVDW whispering "Oh god, oh god, stay calm, we can make this all go away…"

Some of this stuff you're just kind of missing in other books. Red Skull shows up in X-Men Legacy to hassle David before Axis, Uncanny X-Force V. 2 made a few references to Fantomex's relationship with Genesis and he's even appeared in a couple of issues of Deadpool, maintaining the relationship between those two
