I have been using Touch ID since the 5s, only one time has it failed to recognized my print. I have never once needed to retrain it. I now have a 6 plus and it's fantastic to no longer have to login into 1Password, AmEx, etc. Touch ID is one of the best technologies to hit mobile in years. Gimmick ? Far from it.
