Ah, so you’re just upset that even a “white cis male monster” like yourself is powerless against the wealthy. Class struggle does start to look like THE most important struggle when it’s the only one you’re on the wrong side of.

I don’t consider “read the thread before you comment next time” to be particularly rude.
Nice try, but I’m quite aware that rich kids don’t often go off to fight wars. It’s beside the point. The threat of the draft is itself powerful. And if you’d read the thread before you tromped in to self-righteously spew at me, you’d see that I’d mentioned that already.
Right? Republicans are all giggling and waiting for this to blow up, and women are like “seems fair.”
IT’S JUST UNFAIR THAT WOMEN EXIST AT ALL, OK? Gawd. If they would all just be men, we wouldn’t have this problem.
Dude, that man took valuable time out of his day to think of you as a person needing courtesy! Do you know how much effort that took him???
It’s funny how they consistently oppose women in combat positions, because, according to them, women just aren’t tough/smart/brave enough to handle it, but also howl about how unfair it is that women don’t have to register to be drafted for these positions they are supposedly imminently unqualified for.
God, women really need to stop writing and directing all those commercials and sitcoms that promote that trope...damn women controlling the media!
Yeah, studies show men are actually MORE likely to be awarded custody in cases where they seek it. The whole “courts are biased against dads” thing doesn’t hold up to scrutiny - but I’m sure that won’t stop certain people from complaining about it.
I love it when people try to “catch” me with this, because I’m Israeli and then I can be like, “bitch, I WAS drafted.”
If you read the rest of the comments on this page, you will find that they are not saying what you seem to imagine they say.
Yep, every time. Me: Yes, if we have the draft, everyone should have to register, and I’ve felt that way since I was in the post office and saw a poster about it when I was five.
I don’t get why guys even use the argument about opening doors. I have had way more women hold the door open for me than men just because it’s the courteous thing to do. Where are all these men holding doors open for women? Does it happen somewhere?
The draft is shit. Liberal feminists have always said it’s shit. It was shit before women were forced into it. It’s still shit now. This isn’t a “gotcha” moment for anyone. Turns out mandatory requirements and restrictions are—as they have always been—the exact opposite of civil liberty, and the anarcho-socialist…
Family law: divorce, child custody, etc. Which is CRAZY because most“unfairness” in family law is at the individual case level and is based on old man judges’ sexist ideas (women should care for children, men should work).
Oh damn it. Good thing I’m in the grays here because it’s basically just a repeat of your comment.
But without the draft, what will MRAs have to howl “UNFAIR!!??” about?
A simple “no, I am not familiar with those concepts” would have sufficed.
It’s pretty simple. It’s not “about gender” because it’s about some particular people telling this girl that she can or cannot do certain activities due to her gender. It IS “about gender” because it appears to be about a young woman exploring her own self identity by moving from participating in a traditionally…
EVEN IF the context weren’t made so patently obvious by skillful contrasts in this trailer, are you not aware of subtext? Reading between the lines? Analysis? Or do you just take absolutely everything at face value and obtusely refuse to accept that artistic content can have depth?
