When I open a box of cereal, I always do so so that the back of the box will face me when I pour. I don’t have any concept of what will happen if I don’t do it. I just do it.

That might work if the pieces were removed after losses.

Actually, this is one of the few things that make me feel better about this season. Low expectations are good like that.

Seven games in and this team has already turned losing into an art form. Four blown leads in the seventh inning or later. GIDP with the bases loaded in the eighth inning of a scoreless game. The Frediot. The list goes on. I’m learning to see the perverse beauty in it.

Now accepting bets on which is higher during the 2016 baseball season: the Braves’ win percentage or my average BAC.

Used the poison approach. It was in one of those block things, but the mouse still got some and slithered out. Died along my baseboards behind some of my stuff. Found it after a few days with a mysterious smell. Complete with maggots! Good times!

In fairness, a runner-up medal for essentially a preseason friendly would rank pretty low on my give-a-crap-ometer too.

Even five weeks is too much to ask of some people, I guess.

Some fans on Twitter calling for Bowman’s firing. The lesson, as always: Some fans are morons.

All these painful jokes are giving me a haddock.

Me: “My expectations for the Braves are too low for this season to be painful.”
Baseball gods: “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.”

I for one welcome the Braves kicking me in the balls in spring instead of autumn. Nice change of pace.

1986, Whalers-Canadiens, Game 7 OT.

Seriously. Alex Gonzalez is forever indebted to Bartman.

I’m a big Braves fan, but there’s an excellent chance they lose that game anyway. That said, I completely agree with the second sentence.

"If you are a Winnipeg fan, you are used to things not going your way."

Huh.

Not that I really have an opinion on this particular subject, but I would bet that Betteridge's Law applies here.

Tomsula, the mic rula, the old schoola

I guess that's one way to try to catch up to Philly.
