I seem to remember from when I lived in Phoenix, folks would refer to “the 101” or “the 303”, but never “the I-10". Here in Columbus, OH it’s just 270, 71, etc.; no “the” or “I”.

I used to think Eddie Bauer was the same as Bauer hockey equipment, which would have targeted that trim level at an oddly specific demographic.
In parts of the country, particularly in the Midwest, which remain UAW strongholds and where buying a foreign car is still considered a faux pas among the mostly working class, brands like GMC, Cadillac, Lincoln, etc. are the top of the aspirational tree.
This deserves many, many more stars than it has.
