And it is perfectly reasonable to ask the school board, “Do you have a system in place that effectively prevents my experiences with this person from happening again?” That's the reassurance I think she's looking for.

As the parent of an autistic child, I have learned ( the hard way ) that there are two types of people who work with special children, angels in disguise as humans, and sadistic bullies. Not a lot of in-betweeners in that realm.

You’ll be ignored, but I would still advise writing it all down in a letter, getting a lawyer to proof your letter to avoid legal comeback, and sending it to the schoolboard through that layer’s legal service. Between the state trooper in this story and Boston PD covering for a pedophile for decades, I feel light we're right around the corner from a huge law enforcement reckoning. There must be so many pedophiles lurking in PDs covering for people.
