Intelligent thinking dude. Patience and all that. Too many games start off looking good, but turn to garbage within a couple months.

Wow, this patch notes gave me more info on the game that all the years of hype before...I thought they weren’t doing any kind of story and letting players just jump in and do whatever, now there are branching paths and multiple endings? I cannot wait till the 13th when I can pick it up...speaking of which, how big is

“Feeding them correctly will yield different results per species, such as mining for you, protecting the player, becoming pets, alerting you to rare loot or pooping valuable resources.”

So I’m not a developer so I’ve got no frame of reference for this BUT this seems like it must have taken a small team a long time (months?) to do everything in this patch.

No, he was telling people to not watch streams because they weren’t indicative of what the finished game would actually be. Which was correct... People get way too tin foil hat with this stuff. This is how EVERY game is developed in 2016, No Man’s Sky is no different. They have to get a gold build done for physical

Holy shit, thats an amazing list of updates! Day one patches might be frowned upon by some people, but if they use the extra time between going gold and the actual sell date to pull off stuff like this, i really don’t mind them.

They’ve been working on the update for over a month - things come together fast at the end of development.

Yep. This. This right here is why I’ve been rolling my eyes ever since the leakers on reddit started posting and streams starting going up. People started having meltdowns about bugs and how the game is going to be another Spore and blah blah blah.

Wow - I feel like this patch has pretty much rendered all the previous impressions released obsolete.

They’re in a unique position. The game is very novel, and people want to play it. However, if they had a closed or open beta, people would see too much, and that novelty would be lost, along with a chunk of sales. So they’re stuck with internal testing and QA.

Can’t wait! Love what I’m seeing so far and knowing these changes are coming with the patch only make it sound more appealing to me.
