This is a conspiracy theory and not at all a historically sound theory. There are literately mountains of evidence that show this is ridiculous. Fun to talk about, but not actual history.

The more impressive feat is that a lot of the mysteries he creates have 3-5 different explanations for why or how they happened, and all of them make sense in the world. That is just hard to pull off.

His ability to spin believable realpolitik into his stories might be that special thing that makes it so good. I can't think of another book that surprised me with so many twists and turns without ever making me lose my suspension of disbelief.
