    It would seem like that at first, but if a smart fighter gets ahold of the “chin strap” portion of the helmet, he’s got complete control of helmetboy’s head and can whip him around like a rag doll and snap his neck in two in an instant.

    That would have been near impossible to stick that landing (unless you’re a professional stuntcyclist.) The severe angle of the bike combined with the body position of the rider and his trajectory make it very unlikely.

    ding Ding DING!!! This! I recently finished a job with a phenomenal view, 12 stories up, very near where the 405 meets the 10 in Los Angeles. To those outside of LA, this is a MAJOR traffic area and I could pretty much look straight down on traffic at multiple times during the day. And I had the exact same reaction.

    No one has ever thought that any generation older than them “gets them.” By the time you’re in charge, the people younger than you will think you have no idea what you’re doing, even if you’ve worked in the biz for 20+ years.

    While in Florida, my folks were involved in a minor traffic collision which was clearly not their fault. The whole time, the Florida Highway officer was rude to them, calling them “Yankees” and saying things like, “When you heading back up north?” “In 2 days.” “Not soon enough in my book.”

    Regarding people who scooch over, I do the valley to Culver City 405 commute and found surprisingly 2 types of vehicles who move over more often than others. The first isn’t much of a surprise, it’s pick up trucks. Despite them often being douche-y drivers in general, many I assume also own bikes and will move over
