Does anyone know how that second one would fare as a cheap NAS? I wanna make a cheap one to start just to get my feet wet and see if it's really what I want, and it fits very nicely into my price range.

My birthday is in a few weeks here, and I'm thinking of asking for a SSD. Anyone have favorites they really like? I run Win 7 (hopefully 8 soon), and my current laptop drive is only 120 GB. I'm not anywhere near at capacity, and the amount of media files I have they can just stay on an external drive. So really…

Can I ask for you guys to put all the TV and movie stuff back into it's own category? Or is it just so few and far between anymore that it's not worth the time? Cause I really did like being able to skip right to there and the Video Games section. That's all I come for.... along with Hobomodo obviously.

So I'm looking into creating a simple Ubuntu server at home for backups for the family, but I'm in college so I don't have a lot of cash around for a decently powered computer.
