Mr. Ogre is Still Alive...more or less

Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Art of the Deal...

I was raised without religion, really, but my mother was raised Catholic, her family was very active in The Church. I got second-hand guilt. Actually I still get it. Anyone know a good psychiatrist?

I agree. Sad, sad times. :( I want to protect Peter Gabriel and Tom Waits now. Irrationally.

Well said, very.

POINTS!

That’s...accurate.

Click your heels three times and hope for the best?

It might be true! We’re everywhere, man.

Still true, but I think opinion is slowly changing. We do change slowly here, for sure. Eventually. Maybe.

Thanks, I love it here. Most people have to leave, we have few good jobs. I work retail, but I’m here.

Hmm, still nervous. Maybe not as much.

We get a lot of Japanese tourists here. Partly from the anime, but mostly from the books. They remain a big seller. Stories about orphans. Anime is full of them.

That’s the ideal outcome. Such a rich tapestry to draw on, nothing needs to be reinvented.

I was thinking the Canadian animated series that the Sullivan group did. But the Japanese one looks pretty bad too.

I know, they were must see TV for my family. But we’ll see! There’s also a pretty good chance that the CBC “Gets” it. Fingers crossed.

It could be cultural. There have been some very bad animated series that really missed the mark. But here’s hoping they do it right, because it’s such a great story, with a great setting, and wonderful characters. Oh, and let’s hope they come to PEI to film! Lots of people here work in the arts and would love to work

At one point it seemed like he forgot himself and was actually charmed by the President for just a second and then remembered he’s not allowed to like him. Such a sad state of affairs, really.

I get really nervous when I hear that an American writer is going to add content to a well known and very Canadian story. I say this as a Prince Edward Islander, having seen some cringe-worthy supposedly Anne themed things, some produced disappointingly locally.

Probably just being paranoid, eh?

It makes me nervous when they say they are adding to the story. I’m here on and from Prince Edward Island, and we take our Anne quite seriously. Sometimes.

And/or an alien. They aren’t as clever as they think they are.
