No,but I think it’s around 2-2.5%,so not much more than the 2% the U.S. tacks onto German imports.

Next week he will hire Jim Harbaugh and all of Ford’s problems will be solved. Jim has already solved all of U of M’s problems (they ALMOST went to the Big Ten Championship game!), he might as well move on to a bigger challenge.

I’m re-volted by the shocking resistance to charging their employees to generate current safety processes to keep everyone safe.

Could be that he’s purchasing (AKA Supply Chain) for the vehicle in general. Could encompass all parts of the vehicle or specifically exclude other large parts (i.e. if there’s a powertrain purchasing director).

I like how many spare wheels/tires this car has. You could run over an entire flock of porcupines and still make it home.

You should try to re-do the bow-hood-frunk next.

We’ll just refer to it as the poop deck.

Jesus?

I don’t think investors have a problem specifically with spending money on automation/electrification. I think there could be a perception that it is taking so much focus or capital that their core business is suffering. If they don’t have money or time to update their current products, then they have no business

First time parents (like me) have the same feeling about their babies. Any little bump or ding is unacceptable and tragic and must be prevented. Eventually you notice they’ve scraped and scratched every part of their body and yet somehow they are still alive and even growing. At some point you see them put a bucket

I agree, the EV market should stand on its own at some point.

I think it’s possible that Musk can “start building” Model 3's in July, but it will be low volumes and he won’t be close to hitting his 500k/year number in 2018 (if ever).

I can’t convert any of my revenue to dollars (even to buy more parts to build more widgets). My assets will be devalued as the currency weakens. My potential customers have no jobs. And eventually the government will seize my operations because it feels like. Add heavy tariffs/taxation, price controls, trade

Being picky about the round number i used in my illustration misses the point that putting aside money when you’re that young is VERY powerful.

Don’t want to kill ALL the fun, but there’s another option. Mid to low six figures doesn’t shout life-changing to me if you start spending it now. Market returns on it for the next 30 years, however, is compounding magic.
