Unless AOC intends to only do interviews with Splinter writers, she is going to have to get prepared for defending her positions.

I hope you are right about Shazam. I didn’t read DC growing up, I was and still am a Marvel partisan, but i don’t want the franchise to fail.

By low bar, I meant that the DC franchise has been so poorly executed that it didn’t take much for a movie like Aquaman to clear it.

The author has it spot on. Look, DC has set a low bar for itself. Very fucking low. Superman had promise in Man of Steel, then it went downhill. WW is/was(?) a brief moment of light until JL shit the bed, then went to the neighbors house and shit its bed, just to remind everyone how bad DC has fucked it up.

Counterpoint: The filibuster is not the problem. The filibuster is actually designed to get shit done because it was supposed to force compromise.

You are correct. And most people here seem to arguing to get rid of it for short term, screw the other side, insane reason.

And I don’t see any harm in allowing Russia geostrategic control over Syria. Syria’s not important to American interests,

This must be one of HamNo’s interns turned writer. Either way, nothing news worthy or insightful here.

You are 100% correct, but that point will be lost on every single writer at Splinter and every one in the comment section who has blind and flinchly loyalty and belief that AOC will be the next president of the USA.

For Splinter writers, anything less that 100% of what THEY believe should be an outcomes is, well, pretty much crap. The good is the enemy of the perfect(aka Never Going to Pass a Divided Government).

The left has to decide if they want Dems to be in power and then be a voice inside that power, or is this a zero sum, scorched earth, ideological war they will wage on anyone.

It looks like scientist finally figured out what wrong with HamNo.

HamNo doesn’t give a shit about making cogent arguments about anything period.

My understanding is federal dollars are first authorized and then approved. I believe that is to keep exactly what the president is trying to do, from happening. Otherwise, money could be moved around willy nilly at the directive of the executive.

You were kind calling it “news”.

This is called a rhetorical question.

You are my kind of lawyer. The “Simulated Porno of actual events” defense is great.

I am going to to go ahead and pile on here. There is zero chance of white collar workers, like myself, will unionize. Opportunity and the desire to chart my own course in terms of earnings is something I would never subordinate to a collective bargaining agreement.

Careful, careful. You are in the Splinter comment sections. A reasonable and fact based approach is liable to get you back in the greys.

I’d offer this up as well. Many federal employees are unionized workers. So Progressive would advocate for a shut down, over and ideological absolute (no money for the wall) that would end up hurting what is considered a large part of their base.  But hey, fuck Donald Trump, right?
