Was that brain country-fried? I'm going to have find another go-to from the Bob Evans menu now >:p

There was talk of using the character - naive, sheltered, insanely rich - to explore issues of privilege especially in his relationships with Luke and Misty. That can *still* be done - just not with Buck and those showrunners.

It's the first time Danny is likable too. The scene with his dad's desk and the stickers, and Hogarth's reaction - all just gold.

Kind of like Big Trouble in Little China in that regard. The anglo's a bumbling comedy sidekick who is in his heart a hero, but just can't follow through on it yet.

The guy who looks like he fell off an old building?

The Luke Cage/Power Man villain Cottonmouth is different from the Serpent Squad's Cottonmouth. One has a pimp suit, the other a bionic neck. I have no idea why they're both black though.

It really is a perfect song and video.

I just GISed "Rick Rubin" and scrolled down and down and down. Didn't see a hat.

I doubt the studio will pony up the money for it.

THANK YOU FOR THIS or maybe not if it's garbage

No! That's interesting. I wonder if that was before or after their plans to co-produce a Loch Ness kaiju film with Toho.

Transilvane was a hoot. Classic Kirby throwing stuff at the wall just to see what sticks.

Re-reading Doctor 13: Architecture and Mortality so I can lend it to someone at work. They're gonna have some questions…

I've maintained that if Marvel really wants to break into the Chinese market, a Shang-Chi movie or series would be the way to go. Get someone like Benny Chan or Wilson Yip to produce or direct, half in Mandarin half in English.

He investigates crimes by napping! I can do that!

Terror of the Tongs wasn't specifically a Fu Manchu film. Hammer did a lot of 'ripping yarn' style adventure films during that time like Stranglers of Bombay (also sketchy depictions of foreign cultures) and The Devil Ship Pirates.

He also had the Fu Manchu analogue in an issue of Planetary, teamed up with versions of Doc Savage, the Spider, and a bunch of other pulp heroes.

Fu Manchu on the phone, arguing with his financial adviser for an hour before it breaks down into a screaming match, then says "Fuck it" and heads off to a strip club for a couple of hours.

> In 1969, due to continuing accusations of racism, Music Music Music, a spin-off series in which the minstrels appeared without their blackface make-up, replaced The Black and White Minstrel Show. It failed badly, was cancelled after 10 episodes and The Black and White Minstrel Show returned to win back viewers.
