I don’t know why they can’t just be like past generations and consume 80 hours a week of reality TV, cop dramas, home improvement shows, and live sports instead.

And don’t forget Dungeons & Dragons being satanic worship!
Eh, this has been going on for probably centuries. I mean, you had jazz as “the devil’s music”, then Frank Sinatra (bobby-soxers are having impure thoughts! GASP) and of course rock n’ roll.
If they weren’t playing Fortnite they would still see cartoon battles from television shows, movies, Disney Star Wars cartoons, etc. Even the 80's were full of Transformers and G.I. Joe’s shooting at one another (and dying in the Transformers animated movie) and kids mimicked those actions when playing with one…
I side with Musk on this one. Tripp sounds a whole lot like a few people I’ve had to let go from my office over the years. They walk out the door angry about their entire experience with the company and start citing all the “mistakes” and “unfair decisions” we’ve made over the years and imply they have cause to go…
Nice. :)
I play games with my kids all the time! I was a gamer when the first 8-bit Nintendo system came out, and my kids range in age from 25 to 13. We have so much fun! We also watch Youtubers play games that we haven’t bought yet to see if we’d like them. Found a lot of good stuff to play that way!
Other potential moral panics:
Because fear keeps the populace pliant and controlled.

I’m mostly disappointed that such a simplistic and boring loot box MP shooter is the game the youth have chosen as their favorite, mostly because my favorite gaming websites have become overloaded with stupid Fortnite articles.
Look the phenomenon you’re alluding to isn’t restricted to Fortnite or even video games in general, this spans social media, hell this kind of alarmist talk used to be in the context of television in general.
I get the outcry. When I was hooked on Pokemon Stadium as a child, you couldn’t stop me from grabbing food off sushi conveyor belts with my tongue. I was a maniac, especially when I yoinked a spicy one by mistake.
nothing to do with art or creativity.
The best thing about Fortnite is collecting the skins. Even Chinpokomon didn’t reach that level of cruelty. Fornite is basically Buffalo Bill’s Battlegrounds. It even has weird dances you can do in your fancy new skin.
I don't think it's a bad idea to discuss how video games influence people, but to say it's the cause of violent behavior is a bit of a stretch. I mean, do these studies ever look at the background of the kids outside of playing video games? There are just too many factors that need to be explored.
I trust myself least of all. Nobody has done more to sabotage me than me
Yeah, this always happens.
+1, get off my lawn.
if the kids like it, i distrust it
