If there’s anything that nearly two decades of playing games on the internet have taught me, it’s that online gamers are mostly shitty people with terrible social skills.

This is why I won’t call myself a gamer anymore. The face of our hobby is toxic, misogynist, racist, bigoted douche bags.

An apology is “I’m sorry for all that horrible shit I said”. What he was doing was trying to duck out of responsibility with a “I’m sorry you were offended” non-apology.

After Annemunition posted the video, one of the players who’d given her gallons of shit tried to apologize. In a sense. “I am extremely sorry for the way you feel, ” he wrote in a tweet from an account that’s since been deleted. “[K]now that the words I used were meaningless and have no substance.”

“I’m extremely sorry for how you feel” isn’t really an apology though. It’s just a back-sliding way of saying “I’m sorry you got upset.”

That’s not a fucking apology, it’s gaslighting. He should’ve said nothing if he couldn’t actually find it within himself to own his own behavior.

Sorry to be off topic, but is this the reason why everytime I play an online game everyone is just so terrible at the game and i win most of the time?
Because they are all too busy chatting trying to investigate who has a vagina on the feed instead of learning how to play co-op?

That “apology” that that one guy tried to pull is some primo, grade-A bullshit. I can’t believe someone can be called out like this and then still try and sweep it under the rug like it’s no big deal, all while trying to wrap it up to look like some sort of sincere apology. What a fucking moron.

I don’t typically receive this kind of treatment. I think it’s because I tend to play games with either tamer communities (like Destiny), or stick to single-player/co-op games. I don’t play Overwatch, League, CS:GO, CoD, etc. That said, I absolutely believe other women when they say how bad they’ve had it. I see

Are you a man or a female?

Bigger question is why did no one else on the team speak up and defend her. The individual no matter what their classification of identity was, clearly didn’t deserve it. Innocent bystanders.... sure.... sure, tell your self that.

Shit like this is why i only voice chat with friends. That and overwatch..one of the few games I haven’t been hit with the Hard R

“We’re not being like this because we don’t like women,” said one of the men.

Now playing

When you’ve been anonymous online so long and have gotten away with saying so many vile things that by now you feel like an untouchable God that can play with people’s emotions.

I hope their names/accounts were exposed so they can be banned.

“[K]now that the words I used were meaningless and have no substance.”

Public shaming like this needs to happen more often. Put these shits in the limelight. I don’t get the deal with why people have to act this way. Just ruins the mood for everyone and makes people not want to have to confront this sort of thing when they play online. Also don’t go onto CS Source custom servers. It’s

“I am extremely sorry for the way you feel, ” he wrote in a tweet from an account that’s since been deleted. “[K]now that the words I used were meaningless and have no substance.”

The whole “gamer” stereotype has got to go as they are as toxic and unsociable as they can get. I’m a straight male gamer and I cannot stand playing any sort of online game with these sort of people, especially when there are no consequences for what you say and how you act.

Seriously that meowth kitten needs to be a real thing ASAP
