Sounds about right.

And the tech isn't that good...
The original still holds up well in character models, but we should expect more. Maybe this is just a snippet from a Snake Eater pachinko.
3rd person controls almost break the game on 3DS, making everything except boss fights trivial. There needs to be substantive environmental interaction and AI improvements to balance this.
I was kind of hoping for an expansion of the world and a move away from the “zone” system of the original. I’m sure they’ll drop the loading between those zones and make it a continuous linear route, but, with modern tech, that’s still a disappointment.
For real; the original MGS3 trailer was batshit crazy with referencing jokes and took a stab at the GTA phenomenon. Never before nor after did a trailer compel me to desire a game, but I didn't get a PS2 until 2008, when they released the MGS Trilogy Collection.
You could do that on 3DS in 2011. Crouch-walking and third person shooting are awesome in MGS 3, although they arguably break the original game’s design in several places. It’s also trivial to take pictures with the 3DS camera to create new camo patterns that give 99% cover. Despite that and it's 20fps speed, it's my…
The tighter layout of the face buttons on the 2DS makes it quite playable.
I now see they were targeting 60fps @ 1080 with the higher-tier cards while suggesting lesser cards for 30fps@ 1440p. It’s still absurd. If the 6700XT and 3070 are to deliver 60fps @ 1080p, I don’t see how the 6600XT and 3060 are a preferred option for 1440p @ 30fps. Perhaps they are hoping for us to fill in the…
I think they made a mistake by reversing the 1080p/1440p recommended GPUs. There is no world where either 8GB RTX 3060 or 6600XT are a better option @ 1440p than the (admittedly 8GB) 3070 or 12GB 6700XT. GPU nomenclature can be confusing, but here it is not. 6700XT is clearly superior to the 6600XT as the 3070 is to…
Pretty sure that getting the canister hot enough to be malleable would risk the integrity of the samples. I’m sure they start to degrade at a much lower level, especially when they are looking at the atomic level.
Don’t feel bad. I’m an English teacher and notoriously bad at word games. From kindegarten word searches to Scrabble and beyond, I’m just hapless.Thankfully, I don’t often get challenged to word games because I’m an English teacher. :)
My first ride was a used base-model 4-door ‘96 Cherokee with neither power locks nor windows, though I was savvy enough to make sure I got the 4.0L Straight Six. It was $6600 with 120K on it in 2001, the same year they quit making the “Cherokee Classic” before going off the rails with the Patriot, Liberty, Renegade…
A lot of indie games rotate in and out faster than bigger games. Granted, there is still enough time to beat most of them, but many people won’t and will grab the game to own down the road. I’ve done that a few times.
It’s best to have one gun for every possible tactical situation in your car; if not, how can you even call yourself an American?
Do you know anything about ASD? One of the defining and, arguably, most common traits across the spectrum is the “special interest:” an all-consuming interest in a singular social niche. I’d say that buying a Wii U for Skylanders in 2023 would seem patently absurd to most readers without the context of the child’s…
Maybe they are now prepared to approach the sublime near-perfection of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, which really perfected the Diddy Kong air/land/sea formula. No other “Legacy IP Celebration” game has filled me with as much joy as Transformed.
When my family first started running tugboats, my dad used to go out and pick up the orange fuel tank after splashdown. It was pretty cool to a kid addicted to the fantasy of the movie "Space Camp."
Yeah, high-level Madden and FIFA play is no joke. There is as much metagaming as in any other competitive video game.
Agreed on Cyberpunk. I respec’d to blades and pistols recently, and it feels so much better than chipping away at bullet sponge enemies from mid-distance with an assault rifle.
