The article omits a fairly important pointer for the future: the Supreme Court decided that this isn’t something the judiciary should be deciding. They basically punted back to the legislative. This means we may see future legislation that may address, curb, or reduce the problem.

Hey, you know what would be AWESOME? Lifehacker focusing on publishing articles that make our lives better, and not articles that help us discover new ways to identify and hate our neighbors.

Examine carefully and see that its breakout USB ports are 3.0, not 3.1.

Agree, if we could get to the tl;dr it’d be great to have 3-5 solid recommendations.

New question for Salty for a future column. I’m getting sick of these newfangled places where I stand in a line to place an order, give my order, and as I pay, am strongly encouraged to tip right there on the credit card machine. I’ve done this out of guilt several times and then had crappy service afterwards. It

This is a manifestly dishonest piece masquerading as fact check and integrity. You have clearly not portrayed the whole truth about what Republicans actually want to do. You have only led with the assumption they hate Obama and want to destroy his legacy. It’s not actually true. They have different (and, in my

Old-fashioned technology like throwing clothes/towel/blanket over a suspect object is also worth considering. Depending on the clutter of the place, this may or may not be useful, but don’t forget the obvious options available to you if in doubt of your privacy.

I’ve wondered a lot about budget video recording options apart from smartphones. GoPro’s (and their clones) can be good to great for action camera needs, but — important caveat — they function best outdoors and are poor in low light.

I tried an older Yi (1080p) and was very disappointed; it was flaky and didn’t always

If the interest rate on the savings account is all you care about, other solutions (Ally, Amex) offer better 1.75% interest rates.

Speaking as one who tolerated the ACA for the first several years and now finds myself at a point where I can no longer afford the insurance (I was paying $14k/yr. for high deductible insurance which I never used because my family is all healthy) that was just insane. FYI I was paying less than half that before the

I look forward to a supplementary article on some economical but good Atmos speaker or sound bar choices.

If you have other uses for it, ScreenFlow (reg $99) would also do this perfectly (and a ton more including advanced editing). If you need it done for free, you might be able to use QuickTime Player’s screen capture mode (it’s free), although the audio capture may be lower quality (depending on your equipment).

The logic of this article doesn’t make any sense. You feel like you’re less-than-truthful to remote dentists and therefore SDC is a dangerous approach?

I found this unhelpful. I’m subscribed to a couple dozen people/services/sites which use MailChimp responsibly. It’s a good solid professional e-mail marketing provider. I easily unsubscribe to anyone who annoys me or no longer interests me. MailChimp makes this very one-click easy. However, I couldn’t fathom

I can’t tell if this is an Onion article or not. Seriously?

“You can’t force people to save money if they don’t have enough money to begin with. We don’t need self-help books. We need wealth redistribution.”

Mine’s going from $750/mo to $850/mo (completely healthy, young family of 4) and it’s a high deductible plan. Yay. It’s a joke. I’m not rich. I can’t fathom paying $10k/year in health INSURANCE (note: not health care, just health insurance). I’m probably jumping out of the system entirely and going with an alternative

I foresee this hurting Twitter significantly. It will now take up to twice as long for people to read their feeds, turning it into something closer to Facebook. The one thing Twitter had going for it was the forced brevity; now they’re nixing that.

So many factual flaws in this article I can’t even be bothered to take it apart. I deeply disagree with much of what Beth presents as “fact” — it’s skewed and in some cases entirely erroneous. I would appreciate it if Lifehacker would stay out of the political punditry business, because it’s way out of its league.
