Golf TDI 2-door (GTD pic for viewing excitement), I don’t care about diesel-gate!

God, what a horrendous redesign. It looks like an 8000 lbs minivan.

Top Gear America/MotoIQ’s Project Sipster. A VW Rabbit Diesel, but with a modern TDI engine and transmission in it. They retuned the engine and added coilovers and a few other handling bits, along with some aero upgrades. It cost $7000 to build, could do 0-60 in 7 seconds, and got 70 MPG.

Yeah I wanted to say my 2003 TDi Jetta, but the same year Golf would be sweet too. They go forever.

I’m a fan of a golf TDi for fun fuel efficient romps. An ALH motor will never win any drag races, but the golf platform takes reasonably well to being thrown into corners and of course its available in manual trim so you can bang gears as you please.
