Missing punctuation is likely the reason for the confusion:
“brake light on front drive tires is leaking brake fluid” makes sense if a comma is added after tires “brake light on front drive tires, is leaking brake fluid”.

This is pre-covid beater pricing and looks better than several of my previous beaters. Assuming it’s safe to drive, as is, and passes an inspection and test drive, worth the gamble. Worst case: parting it out should get at least some of the investment back. NP
“That’s a whole new ballpark for victim blaming.” The purchasers are not victims.
There may be 17 people in LA who truly believe buying from the back of a truck, or an “independent” on-line seller with no history, at a huge discount, and in the original packaging, is probably a legal transaction. Millions may…
Seldom gets much love - 1971 AMC Javelin AMX with the 401 V8 - could run mid 14 quarters on regular octane gas. They were an impressive offering from a small automaker working with a shoestring budget.
Unfortunately, there’s not much traffic reduction when the weather turns ugly around here. Instead of staying home, having paid for the “safety-blanket” of AWD, with the factory-installed three-season tires, far too many poor drivers still head out, secure in their conviction current road conditions can be ignored.
Damage per mile from heavier EV’s pale in comparison to damage per mile from commercial trucking.
A huge ND, but, thanks for posting this. It’s always strangely comforting to see the work of anyone who is crazier than I am...
The cost of shipping many lower price products from the factory in China to the North American retailer can be nearly as much, if not more, per unit than the wholesale cost in China.
AirBnB is a huge part of the problem in housing. In many places, AirBnB property has become a significant percentage of the housing stock and converted them from long-term rentals to short-term, driving up the cost of the remaining long-term rentals, and the cost of purchasing a home.
Unfortunately, there is more money…
Maybe NP for someone, but ND for anyone who likes to drive, or needs any kind of practicality or style. These drove like the Titanic, are small and cramped inside, and those gills on the fenders are horrifically ugly.
Mazda B1800 1/4 pickup with the rotary engine. Semi-practical, fun to drive, more oomph than most 1/4 tonners, and fits easily into a standard parking stall.
Engineers love designing equipment that use a random mixture of metric and SAE fittings.
1/4 ton (compact) pickups. Toyota Helix, Ford Courier et al. Affordable basic daily drivers with decent gas mileage, and enough truck for casual hauling.
Unacceptable rusting in the snow belt was common across several manufacturers, foreign and domestic, at the time. Two quick examples:
Ford pickup bodies and boxes started rusting through in a couple of years, and the frames of early Honda Civics were prone to failure due to corrosion damage.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but, the suv body severly limits usefulness as a truck. This is not the old-school pick-up truck I suspect a lot of us would like to see back - a plain-jane two door pickup with an 8 foot box and a cab interior (including seats) you can clean with a hose.
At 6 grand, we are very close to beater pricing in today’s reality. Not a fan of the car, but, with low mileage, apparent great shape, and a manual - NP
There is a huge difference between the normal risk of operating a motor vehicle, even as an enthusiast, and pushing the envelope beyond the limits of reason, engineering and circumstances. What’s acceptable on a race track, or an empty windy mountain secondary road, in good weather, is obviously insanely dangerous on…
Just in case no one else mentioned it - this is a haunting experience for the train crew. Trauma from level-crossing accidents often stays with the crew members for months, or years. They can’t stop the train, and, far too often, the last thing visible from the cab before the collision is a screaming face in the car…
A few years ago I convinced my brother to go with a Grand Caravan with fold and go seats. Seats him and his wife, and all 5 grandchildren, and their gear. Bonus: with the seats stow and go seats in the down position, it can carry 4x8 ft sheets of plywood, flat.
Bottom line: Mini-vans are great people haulers that can…
mid-60's Rambler Classic 770 Station Wagon. Exactly what a station-wagon should be: affordable. roomy, capable of seating 6 people, complete with luggage, and versatile thanks to the folding back seat, and the split-bench reclining front seats.
