I was just curious if you'd read them. As I recall (yeah not read them in a while but...) there's a lot going on the tmnt comics they're not just goofy.

I'd say it's because certain iterations of the Turtles have been legitimately good, specifically the 1990 movie,the 2003 TV series, Turtles Forever, the cgi movie, and the current Nick cartoon.
