Looks like a '69 to me.
Looks like a '69 to me.
If you ask people who have *driven* an Aztec (and therefore have some basis in actual fact from which to form an opinion), most will tell you that it drives better than they expected (and is quite useful). Due to the controversial and nearly universally unloved looks, they're dirt cheap to buy.
A "rebadged" 166? This is a 166. Show me how the Trumpchi is this, rebadged.
Except that wing is going to make so much downforce that the Integra's gonna pop a wheelie. And then what?
When I looked under the trunk carpet of the '87 Dodge Colt that I bought back in '91, I found a DJ Magic Mike cassette, three spent shotgun shells, and a Seven-Eleven vest. I'm sure there's a story there...
Does it even spool?
As a fellow Volvo guy, I say yes—7XX and 9XX are close enough in most respects (especially if your 960 had the solid rear axle).
I'm so used to seeing the 3rd-gen F-bodies festooned with Pep-Boys-grade mods or just in horrible condition overall that seeing a clean one like this reminds me why I actually used to like them back in the '80s. The correct number of pedals and the fact that it looks unmolested are both pluses. Still don't know that…
Yes (and I have). For a while there, I had three Volvo 240s (a '90 245, a '92 245, and a '75 242) at the same time (I also owned an '88 745 at the same time, but different model so I'm not counting it). I have also owned two W108s simultaneously (a '70 280se and a '72 280se 4.5). Same with W123s (an '82 240D and an…
With the exception of the SSR, I would gladly buy and DD any of the cars on this list.
The newest car I own was not built in this century. The oldest is 54 years old. By the time I get around to buying an EDR-equipped car, they will be so obsolete that nobody will have the equipment to read the data anyway.
The first-gen Scirocco is a Giugiaro design, but the second-gen isn't.
Wheel arches are too pronounced for an E39 (or an Intrepid). I'd be 100% on it being a B5.5 Passat except the grille area looks too small and the roofline looks a little squashed (but both could be distortions from the camera). Still, I'm with the people calling Passat.
My god, that thing is horrid. It looks like something even ZiL would have rejected.
The CX is cool, but it's no DS.
There is no way you can say that the DS "made FWD popular" any more than you can say that the Traction Avant (or a Cord, for that matter) was responsible. Automakers jumped on the FWD bandwagon because it was cheaper to manufacture and (in a transverse layout) more space efficient. The DS's FWD drivetrain was in no…
The 740 and 850 are two completely different cars that happen to carry the same badge and have a semi-similar shape. Maybe you were thinking of the 7xx/9xx? But either way, the 240 is probably the better choice—it's what most people think of when they hear the words "Volvo wagon," and there are probably more of them…
Lots of modern front-engined, liquid-cooled cars have grilleless faces. And so did the Citroen DS.
Only three lifetimes' worth???
I'm the cock of the walk!!!
