Tony would have been able to reconcile his parents’ death. Tony wouldn’t have lost faith in Cap. Cap would still be able to be that symbol of ultimate morality. The Avengers would probably have stuck together as a unit.

Sure. But Cap wasn’t lying to Tony for Tony’s own good. He was doing it for Bucky’s and for his own.

If you can’t trust Cap, then you shouldn’t be an Avenger, period. Anyone on Stark’s side, good riddance.
