Or don’t explode the engine, LS swap anyway and sell a functioning engine to someone who needs it. It sounds like a waste to kill the boxer willingly.
Just to give everyone a break from naysayers, I’d like to offer a very simple, refreshing comment.
Yeah, I’ve read about the backlash in the ‘70s and the “freedom units” people. I still doubt there’s that much of a societal cost to changing the official units. Canada and the UK still use mph on their road signs but our English collegues are much easier to work with than our US customers.
You are right: the issue lies with data entry. The thing is, you underestimate how much data cleanup and entry is necessary in engineering on top of programming and high school. A lot of calculation is done by hand (or with Excel) and making a mistake in a unit conversion is a lot more likely with the imperial system.…
I do not agrea with you. Converting units within the system is very messy once you start working with energy, pressure and the likes. Here’s a simple example, using both systems:
You’re a lucky man Jason, because if Fancy Kristen were still here, you’d be drowning in the nearest lake.
It’s spelled this way in Portuguese.
Yeah I was wondering about enforcement too. I mean, Ferrari has its own cluster, they make computations at home and make more that F1 cars. It sometimes happen that you put in the wrong number on a spreadsheet and a simulation ends up being attributed to another project. I can’t imagine an F1 team not being tempted to…
Hey guys, other side of the pond perspective here: there is more to politics and economics than being a “capitalist” or a “communist”. Neither is an insult and there’s a continuous spectrum between these.
No issue man, I get that your E46 experience can turn you off to bimmers, I’m not a fanboi, don’t worry ;)
I know I’m not directly answering your question, but have you considered the first gen Z4? I’ve road tripped with it quite a bit and I love this car.
Is it just me or the comments are working right away without having to reload the page a random number of times?
That was some quality writing Erin. Great piece!
Congrats on the new job! Anyone who is backed by Patrick George and Kristen Lee starts with bonus points in my book.
Aren’t the bubbles from beer coming from the natural fermentation process of sugar? Or are we talking about Bud Light crap that barely qualifies as a beverage that needs bubbles and non-taste added chemically?
My bad. I got hung up on the “you’re on your own” part and misinterpreted what you were saying. I guess my English skills still need some honing.
