As someone who has had Electric Power Steer fail in the development stage, It’s alarming that 45 degree steering is coming. When it fails in the field (my daughter had that happen on a GM Delta car at an intersection), no Popeye can twist the steering.

Oatman AZ! Best road north of the border from Ojinaga to Chihuahua. Donkeys all over town though.

This is interesting because I’m about to put up an Element with a salvage title myself. I’m not going to list it for some crazy amount as the only thing it’s got going for it is that it’s a Tennessee car and I live in Michigan.

I so hope that we’re on our way back down from the “woke” overshoot. There’s just too many things that are real.

Now playing

Yes. It’s a flying brick. But much like other rolling/flying bricks, millage can highly be affected by your right foot. My 1993, 36 foot Holiday Rambler Navigator (8.3 Cummings, 6sp Allison) can and has gotten as high as 12mpg but I’ve more seen 8-9mpg in summer with the onboard generator taking some of that for AC.

Yes! Jalopnik needs more of this!

Nope! Delta Wing/Robin vehicle dynamics need to completely disappear. It’s just stupidity.

Preach Torch, preach!

Also, how can you say any of this drivel when you had such an eloquent piece on the GR 86 yesterday?

The Racing School needs sharp instruments, and this ain’t it!”

Exactly!

Also, just a quick reminder — very few people give a rats ass about F-E.”

No!

I’ve been saying this for years. The American car/truck market is in a ridiculous horsepower/towing capability war. 9x% of purchasers have neither the capabilities or needs to use this. But sexy sells and conservation doesn’t. I recall selling early 90s Honda Civic VXs that had a (admittedly old EPA cycle) highway MPG

That is one hell of a misleading headline. A better headline would point out that the E version of the nameplate just outsold the ICE version of the nameplate. As they’re not only completely different vehicles in different categories, what is the point of noting this? Also, using the word ‘ever’ and not indicating

Yup. People are all too happy to delegate responsibility to manufacturers. I have bought very high tech, $10k plus digital measuring devices whose makers will only swear to an accuracy of 3-5 percent. Yet, we’re fretting about 2 degrees of temperature increase still using data from the days before resistance measuring

696 seems to be frequented by 100mph drivers on a regular basis. I've been in packs of dozens doing this. All normal.

I have my son drive me around in his 2nd gen RX7. That's as vulnerable as I'm willing.  My buddy's 64.5 mustang is out. Nope. Not willing to be atop a hot battery in a super cheap Chinese golf cart. I have plenty of experience on crotch rockets to know where my limits are.

Haha!

This could make for an interesting bargain. Let them keep their guns but loose qualified immunity. Or, vice versa. I don't see it happening though. There's too many guns in this country and bad actors have plenty of them.
