You forgot a key piece of the article. The kid told the Wichita newspaper he can’t afford to not have a scholarship for one year as per NCAA rules on non-graduate transfers. So Snyder might be looking out for him because this kid might not be able to afford the year at a different college. But hey, let’s forget that…
